Data on programmes: What is the state of play?
This page was last updated on 2024-10-18
Setting up Interreg and non-Interreg territorial cooperation programmes is a reasonably simple process to grasp in its main guidelines: After the regulatory framework for any given programming period is finalised, implementing decisions are published establishing the basic figures and geographic focus of every programme; right after that the cooperation programmes (as documents) are submitted to the European Commission and ultimately approved. The programmes are then set up.
Despite being simple to grasp, implementing Interreg programmes is a complex and lengthy process. Because keep.eu aims at having the most updated data possible at all times, it uses a mix of the data coming from the regulations, the implementing decisions and the cooperation programme documents, and replaces data as soon as it is available. This is important but it also means that keep.eu users can get easily lost in where we are with the programme data. This page presents the sources of the data users see in the programme area of keep.eu.
Sources of data on programmes
Financial, geographic and thematic data on programmes in keep.eu come primarily from the cooperation programmes documents after their approval by the European Commission. The team at keep.eu inserts all this data and asks all the programmes for validation. Currently, only the information on the programmes prior to the current 2021-2027 period and those 2021-2027 programmes mentioned under the header ‘Validated data’, below, are validated by the respective programmes. The data featured in keep.eu on 2021-2027 programmes was retrieved from the cooperation programmes documents approved by the European Commission. All the data on programmes, including their thematic fields of work down to output and result indicators, were inserted and revised by 16 August 2023. These data have not been validated by the programmes, except in the cases mentioned under the header ‘Validated data’, below.
The tables at the bottom of each programme page contain information on the state of play of the data that keep.eu features on each programme’s projects and partners. Users can check the source of this information on that very same table.
