Description (EN): The overall objective of the project is the development of the maritime culture in the Black Sea Basin through emphasizing the common maritime traditions of the partner countries and enhancing the preparedness of the professionals involved in the maritime industry (maritime/river transportation, shipbuilding, fisheries, offshore oil/gas extracting industry, ports, environmental research, humanities and so on).
Read more Achievements (EN): 1. Public awareness regarding maritime cultural heritage and promotion of the professional qualifications related to modern maritime transportation in the partner countries carried out through:
- 1 international joint conference regarding the maritime history and culture organised held in Istanbul, Turkey;
- 1 cross border expert seminar on cultural marine heritage of the partner’s countries organised in Odesa, Ukrain;
- 1 cross border maritime history exhibition organised and held in Constanta, Romania;
- 1 Maritime Education and Training seminar organised in Constanta, Romania;
- 4 maritime history museums / traditions centers established and/or modernized – one in each country;
- 1 published Monography edited in English and translated by each partner into their native language)- 400 English copies and 1,600 native language copies.
- 1 documentary promotional Film on the maritime traditions and perspective of the Black Sea region and uploaded in 2,000 DVD copies/distributted to partner target groups.
2. A collaborative integrated Web-Platform (MARPLAT) used to transfer of rich maritime knowledge, skills and research results among project's partners designed and made operational (http://marplat.eu/en). It allowed:
- 25 quadrilateral Partnerships among universities/colleages/high schools established;
- 8 on-line education & training courses and educational programs (digital format) regarding the promotion of maritime professions to be developed;
- 1 week train-the-trainers courses organized according to International Maritime Organisation standards;
- 1 forum section developed on the MARPLAT web platform as a virtual community between universities for teachers and university and high school students);
- 1 Exchange Programme for partners' students and teachers held in Istanbul, Turkey/1 week.
3. Cooperation among partners universities established and developed by means of Maritime education programmes, training and research activities, conferences, study programmes and short mobilities for teachers and students organized by the project:
- 6 syllabuses in naval and port management maritime/riverside transportation for Partner 3 TUM Moldova established;
- 5 scientific conferences organised by partner universitities (20 scientific papers and about 50 participants per each scientific conference).
4. Promotion of the maritime heritage of the Black Sea basin’s peoples inssured by multiple expression means:
- a monograph, a documentary film;
- other visibility materials disseminated mainly to high schools contained: 8 press releases, 14 articles published according out of which 12 press comunication in local media, 3 newsletters, 3,000 brochures about MARINE project, 2,250 leaflets, 40 banners, 200 posters, 20 units of flags, 16 flags/fabric of the partners, 32 table flags of the partners/partner, 600 notebooks,100 Marine mugs, 200 pens, 550 pins, 200 bags, 600 badges fro Conferences, 8 rollups, 38 posters to exhibitions, 22 press releases, 6 video releases, 1 month with 3 advertising posts in local Media/Lead beneficiary and
- events organisation: 8 press conferences held in Istanbul (2), Odessa (2), Constanta (2), Chisinau(2).

Expected Results (EN): According to the specific objectives, the estimated results are:
• Maritime history events (International conference, experts’ seminar, cross-border exhibition);
• Maritime education, training and research conferences, study programmes and short mobilities for teachers and students, held among the partners;
• Direct promotion of the maritime heritage of the Black Sea basin’s peoples by the means of a monograph, a documentary film and other materials disseminated mainly to high schools.
• Design and implementation of the maritime education platform (virtual portal) MARPLAT as the main forum of the joint Action MARINE.
• Development of an integrated Centre for Training and Evaluation in the field of maritime transport professional qualifications.
• Design of new maritime river transportation and port management curricula/syllabuses for P3 - the Technical University of Moldova (TUM), which will be the first maritime & river transportation study programmes in the Republic of Moldova.
