Description (EN):

The objective of SacraVelo project is to create a new and unique cross-border touristic product that introduces and offers the rich cultural heritage, sacral values and utilises the natural environment in the Hungarian-Slovak border region, covering four counties along the Danube. The project combines the elements of sacral and active tourism in an innovative way, reaching a wide range of users on local, regional and international level as well. The network of bicycle pilgrim routes perfectly connects to the already existing EuroVelo international bike routes. SacraVelo project covers Győr-Moson-Sopron, Komárom-Esztergom, Bratislava and Trnava counties with development of bicycle route network (designation of several hundred km long, saf e bike routes), bicycle centres will be built in Szil (HU) and Bac (SK) settlements, and a new Slovak-Hungarian tourist attraction is created by connecting sacral values in the border region. Partnership consists of 4 county level governments and 2 s ettlements; due to the partnership partners raise their activities from local and regional to international level. Infrastructure development elements of the project include building of new bike routes and cycling centres, designation of informatio n points and resting places. Among the soft elements traditional tools (events, brochures in four languages) and up-to-date IT methods (mobile app, website) introduce points of interest and help tourists to reach destinations. SacraVelo network wi ll offer opportunities to local people and attract tourists to the border region. Due to the cross-border nature of sacral, cultural touristic offer that combines active tourism counting on natural values as well, the number of tourists coming to the program region increase, cultural and sacral heritage is promoted and information is distributed by traditional and IT tools.

SacraVelo - Sieť cezhraničných pútnických cyklotrás v okolí Dunaja Cieľom projektu „SacraVelo“ je vytvoriť nový a unikátny cezhraničný produkt cestovného ruchu pomocou prezentácie a ponukou bohatého kultúrneho, sakrálneho a prírodného dedičstva na území 2 žúp (HU) a 2 krajov (SK) pozdĺž rieky Dunaj na maďarsko-slovenskej hranici. Projekt inovatívnym spôsobom zlučuje prvky cirkevného a aktívneho turizmu, s dosahom na širokú vrstvu ako na lokálnej a regionálnej tak aj na medzinárodnej úrovni. Sieť pútnických trás pre cyklistov sa výborne napája na existujúce medzinárodné EuroVelo cyklotrasy. Projekt SacraVelo realizuje novú maďarsko – slovenskú atraktivitu rozvojom cyklotrás (vyznačením stoviek kilometrov bezpečných cyklotrás), výstavbou cyklocentier v obciach Szil (HU) a Báč (SK) a prepojením sakrálnych pamiatok na území žúp Győr-Moson-Sopron, Komárom-Esztergom, Trnavského a Bratislavského samosprávneho kraja. Partnerstvo zahŕňa 2 župné a 2 krajské samosprávy a 2 obce, ktoré prostredníctvom partnerstva vyzdvihnú vykonávanie vlastných miestnych a regionálnych úloh na medzinárodnú úroveň. Medzi hlavné prvky rozvoja infraštruktúry projektu patrí vybudovanie cyklotrás, cyklocentier, informačných bodov a odpočívadiel. Medzi soft aktivity patrí spôsob dosiahnutia turistických destinácií, prezentácia atraktivít tradičnými nástrojmi (podujatia, štvorjazyčné publikácie). S použitím moderných komunikačných nástrojov (mobilná aplikácia, webová stránka) sa dosiahne väčšia informovanosť pre pútnikov na bicykli a turistov pri vyhľadávaní pamiatok. Sieť SacraVelo ponúkne veľa možností pre miestne obyvateľstvo a bude atraktívna aj pre turistov prichádzajúcich do pohraničného regiónu. Ponuka sakrálneho a kultúrneho cestovného ruchu cezhraničnej povahy v kombinácii s aktívnou turistikou pomôže zvýšiť počet návštevníkov prichádzajúcich do regiónu a s podporou IT sa zabezpečí zachovanie a spopularizovanie sakrálneho a kultúrneho dedičstva.

SacraVelo – Határon átnyúló kerékpáros zarándokutak hálózata a Duna térségében A SacraVelo projekt célja a magyar-szlovák határtérség Duna menti két megyéje (HU) és két kerülete (SK) gazdag kulturális örökségének, szakrális értékeinek közös bemutatásával és közös kínálatával, a természeti környezet nyújtotta lehetőségek kihasználásával új és egyedülálló, határon átívelő turisztikai termék létrehozása. A projekt innovatív módon ötvözi a vallási és aktív turizmus elemeit, ezáltal széles rétegeket ér el helyi, regionális és nemzetközi szinten egyaránt. A kerékpáros zarándok útvonal hálózat kiválóan kapcsolódik a már létező EuroVelo nemzetközi kerékpáros útvonalakhoz. A Győr-Moson-Sopron és Komárom-Esztergom megyékre, valamint Pozsony és Nagyszombat kerületekre kiterjedő SacraVelo projekt a kerékpárforgalmi hálózat fejlesztésével (több száz km biztonsággal kerékpározható útvonal kijelölésével), Szil (HU) és Bácsfa (SK) községekben kerékpáros központok létrehozásával, a szakrális értékek felfűzésével új magyar-szlovák vonzerőt valósít meg. A partnerséget képviselő 2 megyei és 2 kerületi önkormányzat, valamint 2 település a regionális és helyi szintű feladatainak ellátását nemzetközi szintre emeli a partnerség révén. A projekt megvalósítás infrastruktúra-fejlesztési elemei a kerékpárutak építése, kerékpáros centrumok létesítése, információs pontok és pihenőhelyek kialakítása. Soft elemként az idegenforgalmi célállomások elérését, a látnivalók bemutatását hagyományos eszközök (rendezvények, négynyelvű kiadványok) és a legkorszerűbb módszerek (mobil applikáció, honlap) segítik. A SacraVelo hálózat a helyben élők számára sok lehetőséget fog kínálni és vonzó lesz a határrégióba érkező turisták számára. A határon átnyúló szakrális és kulturális turisztikai kínálat, a természeti környezetre is alapozva a régióba érkező turisták számának növekedését eredményezi, a szakrális és kulturális örökség megőrzését és népszerűsítését biztosítja IT támogatással.

Achievements (EN):

Almost 900 km of safe cycling routes have been designated. The route connects the religious sites of Győr-Moson-Sopron, Komárom-Esztergom County and the Highland districts of Trnava and Bratislava, passing through more than 100 villages and many sights. Cyclists can take part in one-day and multi-day tours where they can also discover the most impressive and remote religious sites and sacral values of the border region. The network of cycling pilgrimage routes is perfectly linked to the existing and operating EuroVelo6 “Danube Route” and EuroVelo13 “Iron Curtain” international cycling routes. To facilitate orientation on the Sacra Velo pilgrimage routes, there is a variety of uniformly branded cycle signs, as well as signs to information points describing the sacral sites and to rest stops with the Sacra Velo logo at altogether 40 locations. Cycling rest areas have also been set up in 83 locations in 64 municipalities. They have been designed with cycling and the environment in mind, in addition to benches and tables, a bicycle rack and a 50-liter waste bin have been installed to ensure the stop is used in a civilized way. Visitors can get informed more about the religious values of the settlement at the information points of 93 municipalities and with the help of 139 information boards with maps. By scanning the QR codes on the information boards, cyclists can find out more about the sights and attractions on the Sacra Velo website. In addition to the website, the tours are also supported by a mobile app developed by the project. Other infrastructure elements have also been procured, installed and built, including e-bike charging stations and two cycling centers in the villages of Szil and Báč in Slovakia.
