Description (EN): The project aimed at fostering the sustainable development of the Lithuania-Poland border region through enhanced economic, social and territorial cohesion.

Achievements (EN):

The project partners created a joint tourist product called "Adventure Camp" in the course of the previous project. At present they would like to include cycle tourism as an element of the product development. With this end in view construction of a walking-cycling route in Olecko and a cycling route in the Kazlu Ruda park is planned. A historical pier located close to the campsite is to be renewed, and the greenery is to be rearranged in order to streamline pedestrian traffic to the bathing beach (with a marina for kayaks and pedal boats). The project's target group is 50 young people who will actively participate in the events prepared jointly by the partners; 10-day "Adventure Camp" and 4-day cycling tour. The joint participation in these events will constitute the basis for tighter contacts between representatives of the young generation and for building of future cooperation in the region. The project is aimed at improving of living conditions of the local population and increasing of tourist competitiveness of the Poland's and Lithuania's border region through expansion of tourism infrastructure by the end of 2014. An additional output will be the inclusion of cycling routes network already existing in the commune in the international cycling route system EUROVELO.
