Description (EN):

Project's "Development of sports and culture infrastructure in Lithuania - Poland cross border" aim is promote and develop sports and cultural tourism in Lithuanian and Polish cross-border region. Also the project is seeking to encourage Lithuanian and Polish cross-border youth communication and cooperation in the sports and culture area. In order to seek this goal there will be built 3 floor sports hall in Alytus with the ground floor for 14 person locker-room women and men, showers, room for cyclists, coach room, hall; in the first floor balcony for audience 199 places; in the second floor 10 double rooms for temporary staying. Arrived sportsmen will have opportunity to change clothes here, where they do sports, there won't be any need to go long distance from the changing rooms. Seeking common project goal there will be modernization of Elk Culture Center premises, which will consist of: rebuilding of passages and main entrance to the building, toilets for men, women and disabled people, rebuilding of the main lounge with modernization of the locker-room, installation of elevator near the main entrance and installation of the air-conditioning in the cinema – theatrical room, gallery and passage. Constructed and modernized infrastructure in cross-border region will widen sports and cultural tourism possibilities first of all for residents of both regions and also for the abroad tourists. Project's results will contribute to the growing competitiveness of both regions.
