Description (EN):

The main objective of the project is the creation of a network of research, cultural and administrative institutions for long term promotion of the exchange of scientific and cultural values in the Black Sea Basin, the integrate and joint promotion of the movable and immovable cultural heritage dated to the Roman epoch of the Black Sea Regions, the raising awareness and responsibility of the local communities and authorities regarding the necessity of the protection, conservation and valorization of the cultural heritage – inheritance of the Roman Antiquity.

Achievements (EN):

A network of scientific institutions (research institutes), cultural institutions (museums), educational institutions (universities), institutions of the local administration and of the civil society got involved in the activity of research, protection and valorization of the archeological heritage of the Roman epoch. A fully functional center for the study of the Roman heritage in Black Sea Basin, on associative principle. A database with all Roman sites of the areas where the project partners are active. A joint multilingual exhibition catalogue and CD for the promotion of the Roman archeological heritage.

Expected Results (EN):

- creating a network of scientific institutions (research institutes), cultural institutions (museums), educational institutions (universities), institutions of the local administration and of the civil society which shall get involved in the activity of research, protection and valorization of the archeological heritage of the Roman epoch - creating a center for the study of the Roman heritage in Black Sea Basin on associative principle - initializing a database that shall contain the Roman sites of the areas where the project partners are active - organization of a joint traveling exhibition in which there shall participate all partners and associate partners of the Black Sea Basin - achievement of a joint multilingual exhibition catalogue printed in 5000 copies - achievement of 8 activities of exchange of experience and information organized (workshops) on topics of joint interest between specialists of the institutions which are partners within the project - organizing a final symposium on ‘The Roman Heritage in the Black Sea’ - joint action with the involvement of the scientific, cultural and administrative decision-makers in the Black Sea Basin - organization of an education and training programme for students and young specialists in the Black Sea Basin– “the Archeology School” - a CD for the promotion of the Roman archeological heritage multiplied in 500 copies - a website for the project promotion - a project promotional leaflet multiplied in 10,000 copies - achievement of auxiliary project visibility materials (posters, banners, dossiers, ball pens) -AK54mass-media promotion by means of press conferences and press releases
