Description (EN):

The main objective of this new cross-border cooperation partnership is to improve public health conditions through prevention programs, health promotion and improving the quality and availability of medical services. The project focuses on the problem of insufficient equipment base to carry out preventive examinations and insufficient number of prevention programs in the field of oncological diseases and tuberculosis. This is why informational campaign for early detection of cancer and tuberculosis is planned together with purchase of medical equipment, introduction of latest medical technologies (diagnostic imaging ultrasound apparatus and mobile X-ray system as an example) and exchange of experience among the medical institutions involved. The project activities include purchase of an X-ray system, an ultrasound device, a digital medical imaging facility, an arthroscopy kit, gas and electrolyte blood analyzer, a hematology analyzer, two ambulances with medical equipment, operating tables for surgery, an endoscopy set, a mammography system, a laparoscopy kit and others. The project shall increase the quality and availability of medical services in the Polish-Ukrainian borderland. In a long term period, the project will contribute to the decline in mortality due to the larger public awareness and greater access to specialized medical research.

Achievements (EN):

• The number of participants in the training for family doctors, occupational medicine, hospital emergency ward, doctor providing services under the medical assistance during night – 100 (72 from Poland, 28 from Ukraine) • The number of physicians participating in the training for operating of new medical equipment – 8 (from Ukraine) • The number of participants in the opening conference (including polish participants) 121 (92 from Poland, 29 from Ukraine) • The number of participants in the closing conference (including polish participants) 150 (100 from Poland, 50 from Ukraine) • Number of people covered by the program in the direction of preventive examinations for early detection of oncological diseases and tuberculosis 14 300 people (7 300 in Poland, 7 000 in Ukraine) • Number of people undergoing treatment of pain (thermolesion) – 80 people • Number of people participating in trainings and conferences (including polish participants) – 378 (264 from Poland, 114 from Ukraine) • Number of purchased equipment and / or medical equipment - 21 pieces • Number of purchased laboratory equipment – 22 pieces • Number of purchased special means of transport - 3 pcs • The number of computerized diagnostic imaging facilities - 1 pc • The number of completed adaptation - 1 pc • Number of training for medical personnel in handling equipment - 2 trainings • Number of opening project conferences - 1 pc • Number of training courses for family doctors, occupational medicine, hospital emergency ward, doctors providing services under the medical assistance during night from Poland and Ukraine - 1 training • Number of promotion and information campaigns – one campaign • Number of elaborated publications summarizing the project: 1 • Number of elaborated publications summarizing the printings: 500 pcs. • The number of conferences at the end of the project - 1 pc
