The Innovative Residential Housing for the Mediterranean (IRH-Med) initiative seeks to improve the competitiveness of innovative models for RH that respond to common environmental challenges while promoting a Mediterranean identity Through the initiative, transnational exchange is supported and complemented with concrete tools, namely the Med Label Principles & Guidelines, for related public authorities and SME through the Med space in view of enhancing the territories sustainable development

Achievements (EN):

State of the art of project implementation since the project start An analysis of the current situation in terms of conceptual framework, regulations, labels, certifications procedures and technologies has been undertaken to facilitate the understanding and knowledge of the existing situation regarding housing sustainability. The analysis helped taking into consideration the sometimes drastic differences between the countries and regions involved in the project. The main reference document in this regard is the Integrated Transnational Benchmark study (ITBA). Furthermore, in order to test and evaluate the usefulness and the operability of the housing sustainability assessment scheme under development, a number of pilot activities have been designed and implemented. In particular, eighteen housing projects spread in participating Med countries were selected. A fruitful cooperation with on-going EU projects and organizations has been achieved in order to look for a converging agreement about the building sustainability concept and assessment approach Latest project activities and outputs During this last reporting period, the pilot activities have been finalised. Reporting pilot activities' results has been conducted internally as well as externally, by preparing videos and e-leaflets. In this concern, 6 videos per participating region and up to 18 e-leaflets for each pilot project have been edited. Conclusions drawn from the pilot activities have been very important to make progress in the development of the Guidelines, and in special of the Housing Sustainability Assessment model. The development of the Guidelines has taken the major effort from all partners, in particular DTES, CRES, BDM, and CNC. In its preparation, a number of technical meetings occurred (in Barcelona and Torino) as well as Skype meetings. In fact, the Guidelines' preparation has been more laborious than expected, resulting in a significant delay in the final delivery. The Regional Dissemination Events and Rome's Final Conference were anyway organising addressing large audiences Next key steps for the project Next steps shall be towards further disseminating the IRH-Med Guidelines, and partners will do so through their networks after the project ends. Additionally, steps will be taken towards results capitalization, and this is partly guaranteed with the participation of both DTES and ACC1Ó in the MED Strategic Project, MARIE. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the collaboration with other European Projects, the so called CESBA, will persist, the next workshops called in Brussels and Selva di Cadore
