Nabopendeln – the train running between Trondheim and Östersund – is most clearly a success. Every year about 58 000 passengers catch the train for shopping, pleasure, work or maybe just an exciting excursion to the neighbouring country. The train service offers an excellent alternative to driving and its philosophy is to make it easy to travel; just get on and lean back for a peaceful three-and-a-half-hour journey. No more tedious and uncomfortable change of trains at the border. The train also offers large space for skis or bikes, a very popular feature.
