Le projet trouve son origine dans le constat suivant : depuis plusieurs années l’économie mondiale fait face à une forte contraction, le marché intérieur de l’Union Européenne connait un recul significatif, néfaste, source d’incertitudes et de tensions économiques. Face à ce constat il apparait aujourd’hui nécessaire de rechercher de nouveaux leviers de croissance pour l’ensemble de l’Union Européenne. La redynamisation du marché intérieur, débouché naturel, trop souvent négligé, apparait alors comme un objectif indispensable du renouveau de l’économie de l’Union Européenne. Cette redynamisation peut notamment se traduire par la mise en place d’actions en faveur du développement et de la facilitation des échanges intra-communautaires, transfrontaliers et bord à bord, particulièrement au sein du bassin de civilisation historique que constitue la méditerranée. C’est en tout cas l’approche que le projet Food and Wine Market Place souhaite développer à travers un projet novateur, reliant de multiples problématiques (développement durable, compétitivité des TPE et PME, création d’emplois, promotion des territoires, croissance des entreprises) et qui consiste en la création d’une plateforme dématérialisée de mise en relation de l’offre et de la demande de produits agroalimentaires, accompagnée par de multiples évènements de promotion des produits et savoir-faire des territoires partenaires. Ce projet permettra d'augmenter fortement la visibilité et l'attractivité non seulement des producteurs agroalimentaires du territoire transfrontalier, mais au delà, également du territoire transfrontalier en tant que tel, en effet les produits bénéficiaires du projet seront pour la plupart à forts caractères territoriaux. La filière pourra donc agir de manière transversale et complémentaire dans différents domaines de l'économie, comme le tourisme, en proposant un tourisme éthique, durable et de qualité, avec des circuit de types oenotouristiques ou gastronomiques.

This project develops in a world economy phase that has experienced a strong contraction for some years. The EU’s internal market is going through a significantly adverse setback, which provokes uncertainty and economic tensions. Given this general situation, it is now necessary to identify new growth drivers for the EU. Revitalising the EU’s internal market is an essential and natural economic goal too often overlooked. This revitalisation may result in actions to develop and promote of intra-EU, cross-border and border-to-border trade, including the historical civilisation of the Mediterranean basin. The innovative Food and Wine Market Place project intends to develop this approach through multiple themes, such as sustainable development, competitive micro-small and medium-sized enterprises, new jobs, promotion of local areas and business growth. It consists in the development of a virtual platform connecting the supply and demand of agricultural food products with the support of promotional events and partner areas sharing their local knowledge. Typical local products are the direct beneficiaries of this project; therefore, the visibility and attractiveness of cross-border areas will greatly increase, together with those of their agricultural food producers. Accordingly, the supply chain will act across the board in a complementary way for different economic sectors. For example, it will offer an ethical, sustainable and quality tourism, with the development of food and wine itineraries.

Il progetto si sviluppa in una fase dell’economia mondiale che, da alcuni anni, si caratterizza per una forte contrazione, il mercato interno dell’Unione europea sta attraversando un arretramento rilevante, avverso e fonte d’incertezza e tensioni economiche. Stante questa situazione generale, è oggi necessario individuare nuove leve di crescita per il territorio dell’Unione europea. La rivitalizzazione de mercato interno, sbocco naturale, troppo spesso trascurato, risulta essere pertanto un obiettivo indispensabile di rinnovamento dell’economia dell’Unione europea. Questa rivitalizzazione può nondimeno tradursi nell’attuazione di azioni in favore dello sviluppo e della promozione di scambi intra-comunitari e transfrontalieri e confine-confine, con particolare riferimento alla civiltà storica del bacino del Mediterraneo. Questo è l’approccio che il progetto Food and Wine Market Place intende sviluppare attraverso un progetto innovativo, che intende mettere in connessione molteplici tematiche (sviluppo sostenibile, competitività delle micro-piccole e medie imprese, creazione di nuovo impiego, promozione dei territori, crescita delle imprese) e che consiste nello sviluppo di una piattaforma virtuale che metta in relazione l’offerta e la domanda di prodotti agroalimentari, con il supporto di eventi di promozione de prodotti e dei saperi locali dei territori partner. Questo progetto permetterà di aumentare fortemente la visibilità e l’attrattività non solo dei produttori agro-alimentari dello spazio transfrontaliero, ma della stessa area di cooperazione in quanto tale, essendo i diretti beneficiari del progetto i prodotti locali che hanno anche una forte caratterizzazione territoriale. La filiera potrà quindi agire in modo trasversale e complementare a settori economici diversi come il turismo, proponendo un turismo etico, sostenibile e di qualità, con lo sviluppo di circuiti eno-turistici e gastronomici.
