Mit diesem Projekt werden folgende Ziele verfolgt: - die Siedlungsentwicklung im elsässischen Korridor entlang des Trassees der Tramlinie fördern, - das Mobilitätsmanagement durch die Entwicklung umweltfreundlicherer Verkehrsmittel verbessern, - die Verlagerung vom Auto auf umweltfreundlichere Verkehrsmittel fördern, - die Rolle des Bahnhofs Saint-Louis als multimodale, das ganze Gebiet überziehende Verkehrsdrehscheibe verstärken.

Le projet d'aménagement du pôle multimodal de la gare de St-Louis prévu dans l'extension de la ligne 3 du tramway bâlois s'inscrit totalement dans la vision d'avenir du programme d'agglomération de Bâle et dans l’objectif spécifique de « Limiter l’augmentation du trafic motorisé transfrontalier ». Il vise à : - favoriser la densification du corridor alsacien le long de la ligne de tramway, - mieux gérer la mobilité en développant l'offre de transport à faible impact sur l''environnement - favoriser le transfert modal de la voiture vers des modes de transport à faible impact sur l'environnement - à renforcer le rôle de la gare de Saint-Louis comme nœud multimodal irriguant le territoire.

The development project for the St-Louis Station Multimodal Centre planned in the extension of Line 3 of the Basel tramway is fully in line with the Basel area programme’s vision for the future and the specific aim of limiting the increase in cross-border motor traffic. It aims to: - foster greater use of the Alsatian corridor along the tram line, - improve mobility management by increasing availability of public transport with a low environmental impact. - promote a shift from cars to modes of transport with a low environmental impact. - strengthen the role of Saint-Louis Station as a multimodal hub for the region.

Der Trinationale Eurodistrict Basel erstreckt sich um die Stadt Basel. Er umfasst 250 Gemeinden mit 900 000 Einwohnern in den Grenzregionen der Schweiz, Frankreichs und Deutschlands. Der Pendlerverkehr erzeugt wichtige Verkehrsflüsse. Insbesondere der Verkehr in die Stadt Basel stellt mit 150 000 Arbeitsplätzen den wichtigsten Beschäftigungspol dar. Ziel des Projekts war, die multimodale Verkehrsplattform des Bahnhofs Saint-Louis auszubauen. Dies reihte sich in das Verlängerungsprojekt der Basler Tramlinie 3 ein. Das Projekt entsprach voll und ganz der Zukunftsvision des Basler Agglomerationsprogramms und strebte folgende Maßnahmen an: - die Siedlungsentwicklung im elsässischen Korridor entlang der Trasse der Tramlinie fördern; - das Mobilitätsmanagement durch die Entwicklung umweltfreundlicherer Verkehrsmittel verbessern; - die Verlagerung vom Auto auf umweltfreundlichere Verkehrsmittel fördern; und, - die Rolle des Bahnhofs Saint-Louis als multimodale, das ganze Gebiet überziehende Verkehrsdrehscheibe verstärken.

Achievements (EN):

The Trinational Eurodistrict Basel extends around the city of Basel. It includes 250 municipalities with 900,000 inhabitants in the border regions of Switzerland, France and Germany. Commuter traffic generates important traffic flows. In particular, the transport to the city of Basel is the most important employment pole with 150,000 jobs. The aim of the project was to expand the multimodal transport platform of the Saint-Louis train station. This was part of the Basel tram line 3 extension project. The project was fully in line with the future vision of the Basel agglomeration program and aimed to: - promote the development of settlements in the Alsatian corridor along the route of the tram line; - improve mobility management by developing more environmentally friendly means of transport; - promote a shift from cars to more environmentally friendly modes of transport; and, - reinforce the role of the Saint-Louis train station as a multimodal transport hub covering the entire territory.
