Maritime economy is one of the most prospective areas of development in the SB area, but despite the strong lobbing and support coming from the regional authorities of SB regions for the intensive development of the maritime economy, there is still lack of international instruments in the whole SB area supporting marketing activity of SMEs at the international level. INTERMARE project will support the maritime economy in whole region of South Baltic by the network of companies and stakeholders under a common brand INTERMARE, easily recognized in the region and in other European and global markets.

Achievements (EN):

What is the project changing? The aim of the project is to create a network of companies for higher visibility of SMEs in the SB region on international markets as to better cooperation in supply chains in the region. The INTERMARE project has created and implemented a number of activities that integrate the actors of the South Baltic region, allowing for better cooperation and creation of joint projects and initiatives. What was the challenge? The driving force behind the INTERMARE project was the lack of international instruments in the entire South Baltic area supporting the marketing activities of SMEs on an international level. The project supports maritime economy in the whole South Baltic area through a network of companies and stakeholders under the common brand name INTERMARE, identical to the project name. What is the project creating? The project has held numerous international events within the INTERMARE joint regional network, such as: maritime fairs, cross-border network development meetings, promotional actions in Europe, enabling effective promotion of blue sector SMEs.

Expected Results (EN):

The goal of the project will be creation of the network of companies and also stakeholders (clusters, employers organisations, regional and local authorities, etc.) for a greater recognition of SMEs from the SB region on international markets as well as better cooperation in the supply chains in the region. The INTERMARE project will create and implement number of measures to integrate the actors of the SB region. This will allow a better cooperation and creation of joint projects and initiatives, and because of that the maritime SMEs from the region will be able to compete on markets.

Expected Outputs (EN):

1) Marketing strategy for the maritime economy in South Baltic region. 2) Instruments created to support and facilitate the international cooperation and promotion of blue economy enterprises in South Baltic region. 3) Instruments created and used to promote blue economy through actions and events. 4) INTERMARE South Baltic 2020 fair for blue economy companies.
