Description (EN):

The aim of the project is to establish two museums – one in Kalvarija (in the former Tsar Post Raiders’ Station) and the second one in Suchowola. In the established museums the common Lithuanian-Polish history will be reflected, as well as ethnic groups, living in both countries, presented – primarily Jews, but also Tatars, Germans and Poles (in case of Kalvarija), who lived in the territory of the project partners in the past. Tourism information offices are also planned to be open in the buildings, where joint promotional and informational materials will be available. Actions aimed at promotion and preservation of cultural heritage of both communities are planned under the ”soft“ component of the project. Two multicultural festivals and workshops “Explorers of history” for school students will be organised in both towns. Both partners will also take part in the biggest tourism trade fair in Lithuania. It is expected that project will have positive impact on the socio-economic development of the border area. At present, stay of a vast majority of the tourists coming there is usually limited to merely part of a day, without using local accommodation and catering facilities. Presentation of the interesting past of both municipalities, as well as opportunities to spend free time will encourage tourists to stay longer, as well as to return in the future

Celem projektu jest utworzenie dwóch muzeów - jednego w Kalwarii (w dawnej Carskiej Poczcie Radiotelegrafistów) i drugiego w Suchowoli. W utworzonych muzeach odzwierciedlona zostanie wspólna polsko-litewska historia, a także przedstawione zostaną grupy etniczne zamieszkujące oba kraje - przede wszystkim Żydzi, ale także Tatarzy, Niemcy i Polacy (w przypadku Kalwarii), którzy w przeszłości zamieszkiwali tereny partnerów projektu. W budynkach planowane jest również otwarcie biur informacji turystycznej, w których dostępne będą wspólne materiały promocyjne i informacyjne. W ramach komponentu "miękkiego" projektu planowane są działania mające na celu promocję i zachowanie dziedzictwa kulturowego obu społeczności. W obu miejscowościach zorganizowane zostaną dwa festiwale wielokulturowe oraz warsztaty "Odkrywcy historii" dla młodzieży szkolnej. Obaj partnerzy wezmą również udział w największych targach turystycznych na Litwie. Oczekuje się, że projekt będzie miał pozytywny wpływ na rozwój społeczno-gospodarczy obszaru przygranicznego. Obecnie pobyt zdecydowanej większości przybywających tam turystów ogranicza się zazwyczaj do zaledwie części jednego dnia, bez korzystania z miejscowej bazy noclegowej i gastronomicznej. Przedstawienie ciekawej przeszłości obu gmin, a także możliwości spędzenia wolnego czasu zachęci turystów do dłuższego pobytu, a także do powrotu w przyszłości.

Projekto tikslas - Kalvarijos (senajame caro laikų arklių pašto pastate) bei Suchovolės miestuose muziejinių objektų sukūrimas, pristatančių abiejų vietovių istoriją Abiejų Tautų Respublikos kontekste, taip pat ir jų turtingos praeities pėdsakų pristatymas apie šių teritorijų gyventojus, kuriuos sudarė gausios grupės tautinių–etninių atstovų – visų pirma žydų, bet taip pat ir totorių, vokiečių ir lenkų atstovai Kalvarijos miesto atveju. Taipogi projektas numato turistinių informavimo objektų atidarymą. Pagal projektą „minkštomis“ veiklomis planuojami veiksmai, kurių tikslas taip pat ir ir kultūrinio paveldo išsaugojimo skatinimas abejose teritorijose. Todėl bus organizuojami daugiakultūriniai festivaliai Suchovolėje ir Kalvarijoje, mokyklinio amžiaus jaunimui numatyta bendri seminarai – „Istorijos atradėjai“, taip pat partneriai kartu dalyvaus mugėse.

Achievements (EN):

The relationship between youth from Suchowola and Kalvarija was established – 2 workshops: „History Discoverers” were held. Exhibitions arranged in the Center of Three Cultures and the former Post Station. The project ensured better conditions for tourists, who can find interesting publications and gadgets in tourist information office.
