Cleantech Energy Crossing fördert die grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit in der Entwicklung von Cleantech Innovationen, ausgerichtet auf die Nachhaltigkeit von Wohngebäuden und Siedlungen (einschließlich der lokalen Energieinfrastruktur). Inhalt und Ziel dieses Projektes ist die Realisierung von umweltfreundlichen technologischen Entwicklungen in folgenden Schwerpunktbereichen der Strategischen Initiative „Energie & CO2-arme Wirtschaft“ des INTERREG V - Programms: Energieeffizienz, Smart Future, Erzeugung erneuerbarer Energien, Energieumwandlung, -speicherung und -verteilung. Die Konzentration auf diese Themenfelder erfolgt aus dem Grund, da die bebaute Umgebung für rd. 30-40 % des gesamten Energieverbrauchs in Deutschland und in den Niederlanden verantwortlich ist. Um die Klimaziele beider Länder zu erreichen, bedarf es daher der Entwicklung nachfrageorientierter und für den Endkunden einzusetzender Produkte, die den Energieverbrauch aus erneuerbaren Energien decken und/oder vermindern. Zu diesem Zweck arbeiten die Stichting KIEMT mit der EnergieAgentur.NRW in einem Konsortium mit über 30 KMU, Wissenseinrichtungen und weiteren Fachorganisationen zusammen, um Produktinnovationen weiter voranzutreiben und den Wissenstransfer von universitären Einrichtungen in kleine und mittlere Unternehmen auszubauen. Dieses Projekt fördert so die Innovationsfähigkeit der "grünen" KMU in den Grenzregionen und fördert die Beschäftigung (Entwicklung und Produktion und Marketing). Der geografische Schwerpunkt dieses Projektes liegt in der Grenze des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen mit der niederländischen Provinzen Overijssel, Gelderland , Brabant und Limburg.

Cleantech Energy Crossing promotes cross-border cooperation in the development of cleantech innovations, focusing on the sustainability in the built environment (including the local energy infrastructure). Purpose of this project is the realization of sustainable technologies in the following thematic priorities of the "Strategic Initiative" Energy/low-CO2 economy of the INTERREG V Programme: Energy Efficiency; Smart Future; Generation of Renewable Energy; and Conversion, Storage and Distribution of Energy. The focus on these themes is due to the fact that the built environment is responsible for 30-40% of total energy consumption in Germany and the Netherlands. The energy transition in the built environment is not easy: New and renewable technologies have to compete against existing (and often cheaper) fossil alternatives and present new challenges to the existing energy infrastructure. To achieve the climate goals of both countries, there is a need for the development of market-oriented customer products which reduce the energy consumption and/or make it more sustainable. With this goal in mind are stichting KIEMT and EnergieAgentur.NRW collaborating in a consortium of more than 30 SMEs, universities and research institutions to boost product innovation and strengthening the knowledge transfer from universities to SMEs. This project increases the innovative capacity of the 'green' SMEs and promotes the employment rate (development and then production and marketing). The geographic focus of this project lies in the border of North Rhine-Westphalia with the Dutch province of Overijssel, Gelderland, Brabant and Limburg.

Cleantech Energy Crossing bevordert grensoverschrijdende samenwerking in de ontwikkeling van cleantech innovaties, gericht op de verduurzaming van de bebouwde omgeving (inclusief de lokale energie-infrastructuur). Inhoud en doel van dit project is de realisatie van duurzame technologieën op de volgende thematische speerpunten van het 'Strategisch Initiatief' Energie/CO2-arme Economie van het INTERREG V-Programma: Energie-efficiency, Smart Future, Opwekking van hernieuwbare energie, Energieomzetting, -opslag en -distributie. De focus op deze speerpunten is een gevolg van het feit dat de bebouwde omgeving voor 30-40% van het totale energieverbruik in Duitsland en Nederland verantwoordelijk is. De energietransitie in de bebouwde omgeving gaat niet vanzelf: Nieuwe en duurzame technologieën moeten concurreren tegen bestaande (en vaak goedkopere) fossiele alternatieven en stellen nieuwe uitdagingen aan de bestaande energie-infrastructuur. Om de klimaatdoelstellingen van beide landen te behalen, is er behoefte aan de ontwikkeling van marktgerichte en voor de eindklant in te zetten producten die het energieverbruik verduurzamen en/of verminderen. Met dit doel voor ogen werken Stichting KIEMT en EnergieAgentur.NRW in een consortium van meer dan 30 MKB'ers, kennisinstellingen en onderzoekinstellingen samen om productinnovaties aan te jagen en de kennistransfer van kennisinstellingen naar MKB te versterken. Dit project stimuleert zo het innoverend vermogen van het 'groene' MKB in de grensregio en bevordert werkgelegenheid (ontwikkeling en vervolgens productie en afzet).
