Description (EN):

The project aims to improve the missing or low level of environmental awareness of children and youth to mitigate the future challenges and impacts of the changing natural environment. Too many current negative phenomena on natural environment and cl imate have deep roots in low awarenss, bad attitude and careless consumption of natural resoruces. The needed changes do not start with political declarations and signatures but with the changes practices of common people, inhabitants of the world. T he project want to contribute to this change through innovative environmental education and training based in natural environment appreciation. The forest environment with innovative (competition and challenge – problem, solving methods) will have d eep impact on attitude and awareness of kids. The project partners want to develop outdoor /school yard based educational, training and information facility in Miskolc suburban area serving both school chidlren and summer camp visitors and tourists . The facility should operate during the school year as outdoor classroom that focuses on innovative environmentla education. The center will be connected to the nearby natural areas with „learning trails“ and use the jointly developed new programmes and tools. In Slovak side from the decayed suburban forest cottage of the Kosice municipal forest company we will establish an international enviro-education center for year-around activities of youth and children of Europe. The center should pro vide services for organisation of school based education and training courses, leisure time activities and summer camps. Part of the innovative approach is the particiaption of foresters and NGO activists (as invited trainers) in the learning lesson s of school children. ML Košice as a long term FSC certificate holder considers activities of environmental education and forest pedagogy an important part of public relations work. City of Kosice through schools) supports the project as well.

Zámerom projektu je zlepšiť chýbajúce alebo nízke environmentálne povedomie detí a mládeže pre riešenie budúcich výziev a dopadov meniaceho sa prostredia. Príliš mnoho negatívnych javov súčasnosti v prírodnom prostredí a v globálnej klímy má hlboké korene v nízkom uvedomení, zlom postoji a v bezstarostnom čerpaní prírodných zdrojov. Potrebné zmeny nezačínajú politickými deklaráciami a podpismi ale so zmenenými praktikami bežných ľudí, obyvateľov nášho sveta. Projekt chce prispieť k tejto zmene a to prostredníctvom inovatívneho environmentálneho vzdelávania a tréningu založeného na ocenení prírodného prostredia. Lesné prostredie s inovatívnymi metódami (súťaže a výzvy riešiace problémy) bude mať hlboký dopad na postoje a uvedomenie detí. Partneri projektu chcú rozvíjať v prírodnom prostredí situované vzdelávanie na školskom dvore na predmestí Miskolca, ktoré bude slúžiť pre potreby miestnej školy aj pre návštevníkov obce a turistov počas leta. Zariadenie bude fungovať počas školského roka ako učebňa, ktorá zavádza a používa inovatívne učebné metódy. Centrum bude spojené s neďalekými prírodnými plochami náučnými chodníkmi a bude využívať spoločne vytvorené nové programy a nástroje. Na slovenskej strane sa z chátrajúcej lesníckej chaty Mestských lesov Košice vytvorí medzinárodné centrum environmentálneho vzdelávania pre celoročné aktivity detí, mládeže Európy. Centrum bude poskytovať služby pre organizovanie školského vyučovania a tréningov, ako aj voľnočasových aktivít a letných táborov. Časťou inovatívneho prístupu je účasť lesníkov a aktivistov MVO (trénerov) na vzdelávacích akciách školákov. Mestské lesy Košice ako držiteľ FSC certifikátu považuje aktivity environmentálneho vzdelávania a lesnej pedagogiky za dôležitú časť práce s verejnosťou. Taktiež mesto Košice, prostredníctvom zapojených škôl podporuje projekt.

Description (HU):

A projekt célja, hogy javítsa a hiányzó vagy alacsony szintű környezeti tudatosságot a gyermekek és a fiatalok körében, ezáltal csökkentve a változó természeti környezettel kapcsolatos jövőbeli kihívásokat és hatásokat. A természettel és éghajlattal kapcsolatos számos negatív jelenség az alacsony környezettudatosságban, a rossz hozzáállásban és a természeti erőforrások gondatlan használatában gyökerezik. A szükséges változások nem politikai nyilatkozatok és aláírt dokumentumok hatására indulnak el, hanem az egyszerű emberek, a világ lakói cselekedeteinek megváltoztatásával. A projekt ehhez a változáshoz kíván hozzájárulni innovatív környezetvédelmi oktatás és képzés segítségével. Az erdei környezet innovatív elemekkel kiegészítve (versenyek, kihívások és problémamegoldó módszerek) nagy hatást fog gyakorolni a gyerekek hozzáállására és tudatosságára. A projektpartnerek létrehoznak egy szabadtéri oktatási, képzési és információs létesítményt Szirmabesenyőn, amely az iskolás gyerekek, nyári táborok lakói és turisták számára is elérhető lesz. A létesítmény a tanév során szabadtéri tanteremként fog működni, amely az innovatív környezeti oktatásra fókuszál. A központ egy tanösvénnyel csatlakozik a közeli természetes területekhez és a közösen kifejlesztett új programokat és eszközöket fogja alkalmazni. A szlovák oldalon a Kassai Erdészeti Vállalat külvárosi, leromlott állapotú erdészháza kerül átalakításra egy egész évben nyitva tartó nemzetközi környezeti oktatási központtá az európai fiatalok és gyerekek számára. A központ iskolarendszerű szolgáltatásokhoz, képzésekhez, szabadidős tevékenységekhez és nyári táborokhoz fog szolgáltatásokat nyújtani. Az innovatív megközelítés része, hogy erdészek és civil szervezetek (meghívott oktatóként) fognak órákat tartani iskolások részére. Az ML Kosice mint FSC tanúsítvánnyal rendelkező szervezet úgy véli, hogy a környezetvédelmi oktatási tevékenység és az erdei pedagógia a PR fontos része. A projektet Kassa városa is támogatja.

Achievements (EN):

Environmental education infrastructure and methodology development in international cooperation with joint training events. In 2017 the Municipality of Szirmabesenyő Village and the Košice Forestry Company received support for the implementation of a joint program from the European Union under the Interreg V-A Slovak-Hungarian Cooperation Program. Project title: FORBEST – Forest Based Education and Training. It aims to improve the lack of or low level of environmental awareness among children and young people, thus reducing future challenges and impacts on the changing natural environment. Within the framework of the project, an open-air classroom was built and a forest house for future environmental education was renovated. Participants jointly edited a manual, exchanged knowledge for a total of six three-day training sessions, and successfully completed two week-long summer camps.

The content will be jointly developed, including country specific features. 7, Tangible outcomes: 6 training courses (3 in Kosice, 3 in Szirmabesenyő) for 12 teachers (2 teachers/course) where environmental courses will be presented for teachers from the other side of the border. 1 report from peer review and updated training courses. 8, Tangible outcomes: 1 summer camp program and itinerary and recruitment scheme for annual twinning and exchanges 2 summer camps (1 in Hungary and 1 in Slovakia) for at least 15 + 15 children and youth/camp.
