Description (EN): Area targeted by project activities, Tamiš (Timiş) river valley, is a “backbone” of the Banat region because it runs through middle of the area and all its flow belongs to the region, or said on the programme words, wholly is in the eligible area. This is unique opportunity to the partners to develop and improve new touristic product on the whole territory of the Tamiš (Timiş) river valley. Also, data previously provided by series of CBC project give the partners excellent base that their mission is feasible, socio-economically rationale and environmentally acceptable. Number of targeted area inhabitants and number of potential tourists and visitors give the partners another support for the planning of the engaged stakeholders and investment that could realised such a challenge and established something new that will be sustainable and serve as an example for others.The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the economic and social development in the Tamiš (Timiş) River valley, backbone of Banat region, through the development of a new joint tourism product.
The overall project objective will directly contribute to the Programme specific objective 4-1 “Investments for the growth of the demand of local tourism networks and promotion of innovative tourism activities”.Project objectives will change current situation which is characterized by:
- Stagnation of economic growth in the targeted area,
- Unfavourable social condition caused by economic situation, depopulation and ageing of inhabitants,
- Unused potential for eco tourism detected in research studies from previous projects,
- Use the potential recommended by above mentioned studies,
- Tourism taking into account as non-priority socio-economic task, only sporadically on the isolated spots as “light” individual projects in the targeted area without connection with same or similar undertakings.
Project will make changes by reaching following results:
1. Developed new tourism product: “Eco Tamiš: Hike, bike, canoe, sport fishing and bird watching” which encompass whole targeted area.
2. Improved new touristic product with related infrastructure and services in targeted area.
3. Increased capacity of the tourism stakeholders in the area to further support tourism offer.
4. New touristic product “Eco Tamiš (Timiş) promoted.
5. Electronic guide established and maintained.
Results will direct contribute to the realisation of specific objectives:
1. Define precisely and develop in details new touristic product “Eco-Tamis”.
2. Improve existing and established new product infrastructure and increase capacity building of stakeholders.
3. Promote and marketing new touristic product.
Realisation of specific project objectives will contribute to overall project objective and programme specific objective.
Read more Achievements (EN): Starting from the fundamental issue of problems in the labour market in Serbia, in terms of the significant number of unemployed persons and meagre chances of their employment in the region any time soon, the lead beneficiary of this project has come up with an idea to enter into partnership with the Romanian counterpart to jointly tackle the issue of the labour market in the cross-border area. After a short period of research, the common conclusion was reached that support for labour market development has not undergone any substantial analysis. In contrast, labour potentials in the respective area have not been used. Since Romania faces the problem of a much higher demand for relevant labour than the offer, and, in Serbia, the situation is the other way round, the inevitable conclusion is that the solution to the problem lies in partnership and active cooperation in attempts to mitigate the effects of these statistics. To balance the employment rate in the Romanian-Serbian cross border area, taking into account the current high unemployment rate in Serbia, on the one hand, and the lack of labour in Romania, on the other hand, we found out that our starting point should be a thorough analysis of the labour market, aimed at recognizing shortcomings, and then planning actions and measures for overcoming these. All relevant stakeholders were included in the preparation of this document (public, private and NGO sectors). The final document ensures a long-term strategic approach to labour market development in the cross-border area. The project planned a variety of activities, including thematic debates, workshops, and education for the unemployed with emphasis on representatives of disadvantaged groups. The most important project tasks were implemented to foster the development, render support and ensure sustainability in the labour market of cross-border cooperation structures. The most important project activities, and results were: preparation of the Labour market analysis; education for the unemployed; establishing the long term cooperation in the field of labour market; networking; developing the web page with the intention to offer to the job seekers from Serbia and Romania the possibility to access relevant information on available jobs from both countries. New models of active support were implemented.

Expected Results (EN): PA4-RI3 New “touristic products” created as a result of programme actions in the field of promotion and information on integrated touristic networks in the CBC area.
Expected Outputs (EN): Expected project results will be:
1. Developed new tourism product: “Eco Tamiš (Timiş): Hiking, biking, canoeing, sport fishing and bird watching”.
New touristic product will encompass Tamiš (Timiş) river valley on the all flow from source to mouth. It means all 359 km, 241 km in Romania and 118 in Serbia. This unique and continuous touristic area will be cover with eco-touristic services of hike and bike paths, canoeing routs, bird watching and sport fishing places. In some way institutionalized network of stakeholders will manage them.
2. Improved new touristic product with related infrastructure and services in targeted area, Tamiš (Timiş) river valley.
Developed new touristic product will be improved by posting small suitable infrastructure according to studies that will be outputs of development activities, 3.1 and 3.2 (in detail explain below). Purpose of this result is that tourists and visitors will have immediately after developing new product enough equipped area for their visiting and services for their leisure and enjoyment. This infrastructure is a mean for completing new touristic product in rational and sustainable way.
3. Increased capacity of the tourism stakeholders in the area to further support tourism offer.
Partners considered that new touristic product will not be functional and will stay on the stadium of idea if no human resource will be provided to support it. According to this conclusion Partners plan comprehensive capacity building of stakeholders through trainings aims to create “tourism professionals” in tourism development and will be divided into several groups.
The first training set will be targeting the key tourism stakeholders from the region and will be focusing key tourism development in subjects such as running tourism and enterprises professionally, marketing and improvement of skills.
Second training will focus on organization of tourist activities, enhancing the capacities of organizers and animators in the way their present their activities and interact with the tourists and visitors, quality and professionalization. Special attention will be given to the basic characteristics of the area, orienteering, bird-watching, photo safaris and canoeing.
The third group of stakeholders will be accessory services providers such as transportation, health care, information systems, safety of tourist system.
Four training opportunity will be reserved for applied ecology stakeholders. It will encompass eco-sociology and eco-economy issues and how stakeholders will effectively and efficiently manage with them.
4. New touristic product “Eco Tamiš (Timiş) promoted.
Purpose of achieving this result is establishment of continuous promotion and marketing of the Eco Tamiš (Timiş) tourism and awareness campaign of benefits for using it.
It has been proved that promotion and marketing is the key of success of any merchandise even more when it is the launch of a new product.
This result will be reached by activity 3.4 which is highly developed and includes up to 12 specially designed sub-activities.
5. Electronic guide established and maintained
As a crown of the project, Partner considered to establish rational and functional electronic guide which serve to tourists and visitors to have timely and up to date information in every moment and place.
