Description (EN): The project will build on the BM Region’s entrepreneurship potential in order to improve territorial competitiveness,while promoting&supporting the emergence of SMEs through overcoming the gap between entrepreneurship&innovation skills&business practice;the motive was to prepare the ground for educational&training initiatives for the upgrading of the human resources®ional sustainable socio-economic development.The project focuses on defining an experimental methodology that will try to facilitate the innovation transfer to the Agrifood (inc. agri/aquaculture)sector through supporting a structure for innovative entrepreneurship in order to enhance the capacity of SMEs’ through the implementation of both,ICT applications&training,in order to grow towards other markets&introduce innovation in all phases of their business cycle.The project addresses the concept of “pre-incubation” as an important mechanism for providing the necessary knowledge&skills to young innovators&existing entrepreneurs. The project foresees the establishment of Regional Innovation Mechanisms (RIMs)/country,constituting the 3ple helix approach (policy–academic research–entrepreneurship), complemented by funding actors&business support that will facilitate the identification,maturing&promotion of innovative entrepreneurial ideas in Agrifood (inc.Agri/Aquaculture)sector.The overall objective of the project is to improve innovative territories by unleashing territorial potential to improve the transnational innovation capacity of the business sector&developping the appropriate environment in the BM regions,where potential entrepreneurs with a feasible business idea in will be subject to an experimental learning process that will help them acquire the diverse tools&skills required to implement their ideas into a viable business start-up.The proposed project is expected to have the following results:Increase the attractiveness of the region for young&existing innovative entrepreneurs by promoting socioeconomic development,supporting the development of innovative entrepreneurship through commercial exploitation&Foster a business friendly environment for growth&jobs by supporting the professional development of young&existing entrepreneurs by providing them training&coaching in order to follow the innovative entrepreneurial root.12 SMEs/region will introduce product or process innovations.There will be a transnational exchange of knowledge&experience on good practices supporting entrepreneurship through pre-incubation activities,that will drive to the development of the project’s pre-incubation experimental model, its pilot implementation (training,seminars,Virtual Hub,mentoring,networking) with the participation of 12participants/region for the development of their business idea&the networking of business ideas&future steps. 12new enterprises cooperating with research institutions per region will be created&6enterprises/region will be supported to introduce new to the firm products.
Read more Achievements (EN): The main outputs and results of AgroLabs project include:
Four Diagnosis of the agro-food chain of Imathia, Lemesos, Blagoevgrad and Fier regions were developed;
Seven AgroLabs Workshops mwere organized on the territory of each project partner so as to enable multi-stakeholders’ joint conceptualisation and development of pilot agro-food innovation clusters;
Four Local Events were organized in order to create awareness and disseminate the Project outputs. Key stakeholders on the local level were invited to attend these events;
AgroLabs Innovation Summit was held in Fier, Albania, which was a transnational conference that involved key stakeholders from each region, in order to promote the transnational exchange and networking, discuss challenges and develop common solutions and strategies concerning the growth of agro-food sector in Balkan-Med region;
Four Local Action Plans were developed that were the results of stakeholders’ consultation activities and aimed at building joint strategy at regional level. They served as the operational plan to establish the AgroLabs cluster;
Four Pilot Case Studies were developed. All research partners, in collaboration with agro-food SMEs and local producers worked on case studies that involved innovative products, innovative processes or solutions that respond to the challenges of each of the pilot regions identified in WP3 and WP4;
Four AgroFood Innovation clusters have been created. AgroLabs clusters serve as physical places where industry, research institutions and public authorities meet. The four AgroLabs clusters lead to the creation of the Balkan-Med network of agro-food clusters.
Communication tools:
Throughout project`s lifecycle, a wide range of channels were used in order to address target audiences and maximize the dissemination of the project AgroLabs Innovation Clusters. Several tools were used, depending on each target audience category, in order to achieve communication adaptability.
AgroLabs project identity – project logo;
AgroLabs poster – posters were placed on visible place on each project partner organization;
AgroLabs website – an official website of the project has been created – www.agrolabs.eu;
AgroLabs social media - Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts were created for the project AgroLabs Innovation Clusters;
AgroLabs brochures – the brochures were developed and distributed in English and in the national languages of the participating countries;
AgroLabs Electronic Newsletters – 4 AgroLabs E-newsletters were developed through the project lifecycle;
AgroLabs video was created;
AgroLabs Handbook was developed and includes a summary of the project activities and what the project has accomplished;
AgroLabs Stickers were placed in a visible place in all equipment that was purchased in the context of the AgroLabs Project;
Scientific articles were written by members of the PP3 team, regarding research results/ outcomes, in order to increase the AgroLabs outreach;
Event materials were developed. Each set includes a paper folder, a note pad, the AgroLabs brochure (as was mentioned before) and a pen.

Expected Results (EN): The project will support the exchange of know-how&the creation of business networks.Primary result of the project is the creation of a network of experts in entrepreneurship,innovation&entrepreneurial education for knowledge transfer.There is no such network in the field of pre-incubation.We expect to create a stable network of collaboration with other networks also that partners participate that will last after the end of the project&enlarge it with stakeholders from education,business&local communities.It will develop transnational cooperation schemes of the “triple helix” type inducing innovation processes&unleash innovation potentials.The project will contribute in merging education with business practice&economic needs of regions.Actions for raising awareness&creating common understanding about business model innovation&commercialization of innovation will be implemented.It will promote the required common policy for the development of crossborder entrepreneurship.It will develop entrepreneurial skills&mindset to the participants,improving their opportunities in the labour market.The proposed project will develop innovation culture&cooperation in the Agrifood sector,a viable,feedback mechanism for the detection&maturation of the innovative business ideas&a permanent mechanism for networking&extroversion of the Agrifood innovative business ideas&investors.The proposed project is dealing with the support of SMEs in order to improve their adjustment capacity&is expected to have the following results:Increase the attractiveness of the region for young&existing innovative entrepreneurs by promoting socio-economic development,supporting the development of innovative entrepreneurship through commercial exploitation of Agrifood sector&Foster a business friendly environment for growth&jobs by supporting the professional development of young&existing innovative entrepreneurs by providing them with training&coaching in order to follow the innovative entrepreneurial root.
Read more Expected Outputs (EN): It is first necessary to identify,analyze&assess the transferability of existing good practices that will provide an open learning platform for the development of an experimental model in the BM based on its specific context&needs. The outputs:a)Good practice report on pre-incubation activities at EU&the BM Region,b)Transferability assessment of pre-incubation good practice features.Based on the lessons learned,a pre-incubation model for the BMterritory will be developed to create suitable conditions for supporting innovation entrepreneurship even online.a)Report on key features of the pre-incubation model in the BMterritory,b)Documented implementation procedures for a successful pre-incubation model,c)Creation of an open Virtual Hub.The developed model&procedures will be tested through pilot implementation in the regions.The outputs/region:a)Average selection of 12 participants,b)3-4 Open access dissemination events,c)1 “pre-incubation space(in Patras),d)Open training sessions(5semin,5 study tours,5workshops),e)Individual practical training(15 hours/part),f)Monitoring&evaluation report of the pre-incubation model&their results,g)Development of a business plan/participant (12),h)Enterprises cooperating with research institutions(12),i)Enterprises supported to introduce new to the firm products(6).The results of the pilot implementation in each participating region will be evaluated&pre-conditions will be identified for further development&full-scale implementation of the developed pre-incubation model in the participating regions.a)Participating in the Patras IQ event with parallel networking,b)Guidelines&recommendations for further development&full-scale implementation of the pre-incubation model in the Balkan Med regions at cross-border.Wide dissemination of project outputs making them freely available to all undertakings of all economic sectors, including competitors.The project objectives, progress&results will be disseminated as described in section B.4.1.
