Description (EN):

Through the application and implementation of green, sustainable technology and social engagement solutions NortH2O will provide long-term, cost-effective and transferable approaches for reducing micro-pollutants in the environments of remote regions. The NortH2O project will tackle the practical issues stemming from the imminent roll-out of water quality standards across Europe, which are particularly problematic for NPA areas, and will arm remote communities, authorities, and businesses with the information and tools in accessible language and media to remediation, maintain and promote healthy and productive environmental conditions alongside human wellbeing. NortH2O will support remote and rural regions with ComPReSS (Comprehensive Pharmaceutical Remediation Solution Service), a service providing an evaluation framework to assist stakeholders in northern communities. Including a suite of innovative, extensive, and region-specific guidance and information delivery systems ComPReSS will provide the NPA region with a sustainable and transferrable approach to reduce pharmaceutical levels in water and demonstrated social and technological solutions. NortH2O will use locally relevant materials and technology that contribute to a circular economy to pilot and implement remediation solutions within rural regions.
