SME2Go will improve the competitiveness of smart city solution developing SMEs in the Central Baltic region. Cities play a significant role in our efforts to reduce the effects of global climate change. Therefore we must examine closely the ways we live, move, use energy and construct our cities in order to reach the goals of low-carbon economy and resource efficiency. Smart cities and innovative urban environments will be main target of investments in e.g. Africa, Asia and South-America within the next ten years. For the CB region to play a significant role in exporting the R&D and innovative solutions developed here the companies providing smart city solutions in Estonia, Finland and Sweden need public support. The project team has identified ca 500 of these companies. SME2Go focuses on improving the competitiveness of these smart city solution providers. The project brings together SMEs and their knowhow, trains their sales and marketing skills, provides market intelligence and forms consortia out of these SMEs that have the readiness to enter new markets. Main output of SME2Go is 3-5 cross-border consortia that achieve sales in new markets with the help of SME2Go. In order to achieve this, cross-border co-operation is vital. The cutting edge of the intervention logic on the project is based on three key elements: 1. Each partner has a long track record in activating clusters related to smart city concepts and solutions, e.g. automation, energy efficiency. 2. Pre-established connections to several smart city solution providing multinationals offer the target group SMEs concrete possibilities to join turnkey deliveries. 3. Partners have access to existing test beds where the most novel technologies can be piloted and tested before entering foreign markets. Partners are SISP-Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, Västerås Science Park (Sweden), Turku Science Park, Posintra (Finland) and Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol (Estonia).

Expected Results (EN): R1.3. Number of cluster co-operations exporting to new markets

Expected Outputs (EN):

SME2GO project main results and correlation with the programme result indicator are:- 3-5 Central Baltic cross-border smart city consortia formed, trained and export strategies created for them- 2-3 new sales achieved by these consortia either during the project duration or shortly (1-2yrs) after by implementing the export strategies.
