Description (EN):

Context: address the societal challenge of ageing society and to demonstrate that thermalism could be, by introducing innovative cures and care solutions, a sector having a huge potential in making healthcare more efficient. Healthy lifestyle and prevention are supposed to be more and more relevant making wider the target group perspective for the territories. Partnership: 8 partners (1 Association, 2 Universities, 1 Cluster, 3 Regional Development Agencies and 1 Innovation centre) from 8 countries (FR, HU, LV, PL, RO, LT, PT, SI). When relevant, authorities in charge of targeted policies are committed to provide their support. Relevant stakeholders within each area will be strongly involved in the exchange of experience at interregional level and planned adaptation of policy instruments. Objective Improve policies aiming at supporting knowledge transfer and strengthening opportunities for open innovation between the triple helix partners in the field of preventative health and thermalism in order to accelerate the launch on the market of innovative solutions for developing healthy lifestyle. Approach Three-steps approach in Phase 1. Interregional exchange of experiences in that field and subsequent introduction into their policies of innovative health solutions for thermal spa regions (final purpose under Phase 2). Main activities and outputs 8 policy instruments are addressed (1 per region), all related to structural funds programmes. Basis for exchange of experience: Reciprocal improvement analysis and 8 study visits. Newsletters and final dissemination event for an effective dissemination towards other territories in Europe. Main expected results At least 16 good practices identified, 8 targeted policy instruments improved, 16 staff members will transfer new capacities in their intervention fields, 50 involved stakeholders with increased skills and knowledge from exchange of experience. Expected 20 articles in press including at EU level.

Achievements (EN):

In terms of activities, the project has organised a total of 45 policy learning events. It has also identified 8 good practices, produced 7 action plans and led to the increased capacity of 92 people. In terms of results, the project has succeeded in improving 5 regional development policies for a total amount of funds influenced of EUR 1,051,383. 00.

Expected Results (EN):

The project aims to improve regional and national policies by integrating the lessons learnt from the cooperation in order to maximize the connection of knowledge and technology with the exploitation of market opportunities for new products and innovative health solutions for thermal spa regions. Based on the sharing of experiences, the project will identify and transfer good territorial policies or instruments developed by Managing Authorities and dedicated to thermal innovation in the field of preventative health, with a strong focus on the involvement of the triple helix partners (public authorities, academic institutions and cluster organisations) in the local decision making process. Relevant policies will then be transferred among the project partners. Connected to the Smart Specialisation Strategies, the project will facilitate the exchange of good practices among regional authorities in charge of the management of ERDF programs, universities and innovation partners, to develop methods, to support knowledge transfer and strengthen opportunities in order to accelerate the launch on the market of innovative solutions of preventative health related to thermalism and for developing healthy lifestyle. The operational objectives are to: - Promote interregional policy learning and exchange of practices/experiences between partners to capitalize on methodologies, - Improve the implementation of policies and programmes relating to health prevention and thermalism, - Implement concrete actions from action plans that each partner will develop from interregional policy learning and exchange of practices.

Expected Outputs (EN):

All the policy instruments addressed by the project are linked to the implementation of 2014-2020 EU Structural Funds, in particular the ERDF. The project will therefore have a strong impact on that implementation process, in the sense of ensuring a quality oriented and effective investment of Structural Funds in the field of preventative health and thermalism. EXPECTED OUTPUTS: - Project management. 24 Stakeholders group meetings. 1 partner agreement. 1 subsidy contract. 1 FLC agreement procedure . 1 joint progress report template. 1 procedure manual. 9 SC meetings. 24 partner reports. 7 joint progress report submitted. 8 action plans. 2 annual progress reports. 1 project meeting in phase 2. 1 final project report. - Exchange of experience. 1 reciprocal improvement analysis. 8 Study visits (1 per region). 8 Reports about experiences exchanges . 8 debriefing meetings after the study visits - Communication and dissemination. 1 communication and dissemination strategy. 1 project poster. 17 Updating of the programme website. 72 institutional website partners updates. 1 general leaflet in 8 languages. 2 profiles on social medias. 8 networking events . 8 Press conferences or press releases. 4 e-Newsletters. 1 final publication with the results of the cooperation (SWOT analysis, reports about experiences exchanges and 8 action plans). 1 Final Disseminatin Event in Brussels. EXPECTED RESULTS: - Project management. 80 participants expected to the stakeholders group meetings. 144 participants expected to the SC meetings. 7 joint progress reports to be submitted. 2 annual progress reports to be submitted. 8 actions plan expected to be produce by the partners. 40 participants expected to the project meeting in phase 2. And more in general a successful project running which achieves its objectives, notably through effective joint working culture between partners with effective financial management and accounting with all reports submitted in due time and no serious conflict within the partnership. - Exchange of experience: 320 participants expected to the study visits . 16 best practices identified (2 per territory). 320 participants expected to the debriefing meetings . At least 16 staff members/partner with increased capacity: at least 16 staff members will transfer new capacities in their intervention fields; at least 80 involved stakeholders with increased skills & knowledge from exchange of experience; 8 target policies improved. - Communication and dissemination: 17 expected appearances on the programme website. 72 expected appearances on the partners websites. 1600 copies of the general leaflet. 700 followers expected on the social medias. 320 participants expected to the networking events. 20 expected appearances in press & media. 800 readers expected for the newsletter. 100 participants expected to the Final Disseminatin Event. The project will also actively contribute to the the platform and the events organised by the Programme to spread out and share its results.
