CONA se osredotoča na porečje potoka Koren, ki predstavlja del porečja reke Soče in se na zavarovanem območju »otoka Cona« izliva v Jadransko morje. Vsi predvideni posegi na porečju gredo v smeri izboljšanja kakovosti voda, torej k izboljšanju tako stanja ohranjenosti habitatov kot tudi vrst. Pomemben del projekta predstavlja predvidena investicija na območju Občine Tržič, ki bo občutno vplivala na neposredno zmanjšanje okoljskega pritiska na zavarovano območje otoka Cona.

Il progetto CONA si concentra sul bacino idrografico del torrente Corno, il quale fa anche parte del bacino idrografico dell'Isonzo e nell'area protetta dell'Isola della Cona, sfocia nell'Adriatico. Tutte le opere previste sul bacino sono indirizzate al miglioramento della qualità dell'acqua ed al miglioramento dello stato di conservazione degli habitat e delle specie. Parte importante del progetto è l'intervento concentrato nell'area del Comune di Monfalcone, che influirà in modo significativo sulla diretta riduzione della pressione ambientale nell'area protetta dell'isola della Cona.

Description (EN):

The CONA project focuses on the river basin of the Corno, which is also part of the river basin of the Idonzo and the nature conservation area of the Cona island, and discharges into the Adriatic sea. Everything planned for the basin will contribute to improve water quality and improve the preservation state of natural habitats and animal species. The action in the area of the municipality of Monfalcone is an important part of the project, as it will have a significant influence on the direct reduction of environmental pressure in the nature conservation area of Cona island.

Achievements (EN):

The project’s main objective was to carry out interventions aimed at guaranteeing sustainable ecosystem services with the help of green technologies. A reduction in the wastewater emptied into in the Corno river and the Adriatic will also have a positive impact on the conservation status of habitats and species. This will reduce environmental pollution and will improve the chemical-physical state of the water. By improving the ecological status of the Corno river, and consequently that of the mouths of the Isonzo river, a proper balance will be restored within the “Isola della Cona” nature reserve, thus increasing its self-cleaning capacity and biodiversity. The re-naturalisation of the Corno river involved the use of green technologies (sewage ditch and meandering course) and eco-remedies (natural systems and processes for the protection and renewal of the environment). With the re-naturalisation of the watercourse, long-term sustainability and economic management will be guaranteed. Eco-remedies primarily serve to improve self-cleaning capacities, as they protect natural habitats and biodiversity. With eco-remedies, the water is successfully retained, creates a new habitat, and eliminates residual pesticides and other nutrients present due to agricultural activities. In this manner, important areas of the ecosystem are protected from pollution, while at the same time allowing for sustainable ecological development in the cross-border area.

Glavni skupni cilj projekta je varstvo in izboljšanje varovanja vodnega ekosistema in biotske pestrosti za trajnostni razvoj projektnega območja, kar prispeva k programskemu specifičnemu cilju. Projekt se osredotoča na razvoj inovativnih rešitev z uporabo najsodobnejših spoznanj na evropskem nivoju, ki bodo prinašali konkretne rezultate na čezmejnem območju.

L'obiettivo principale del progetto è la tutela ed il miglioramento dell'ecosistema acquatico e della biodiversità per lo sviluppo sostenibile dell'area di progetto, al fine di contribuire all'obiettivo specifico di programma. Il progetto si concentra sullo sviluppo di soluzioni innovative con l'utilizzo delle conoscenze più avanzate a livello europeo, che porteranno a risultati concreti nell'area transfrontaliera.

Expected Outputs (SL):

Glavni projektni rezultat bodo izvedeni posegi za trajnostno zagotavljanje ekosistemskih storitev s pomočjo zelenih tehnologij. Manj odpadne vode v Koren in Jadransko morje bo pozitivno vplivalo na raven stanja ohranjenosti habitatov in vrst. Zmanjšalo se bo onesnaževanje okolja ter izboljšalo kemijsko-fiziološko stanje voda. Z namenom izboljšanja ekološkega stanja potoka in posledično izliv reke Soče v naravni rezervat “Isola della Cona” se bo vzpostavilo ustrezno ravnovesje. Povečala se bo njegova samočistilna sposobnost in biodiverziteta. Zasnova revitalizacije potoka Koren bo temeljila na zelenih tehnologijah (čistilni jarek in meandrirana struga) ter ekoremediaciji (uporaba naravnih sistemov in procesov za varovanje in obnovo okolja). Z revitalizacijo vodotoka bo zagotovljena olgoročna trajnost in gospodardno upravljanje. Osnovne funkcije ekoremediacij so samočistilne lastnosti ter ohranjajo naravne habitate in biološke raznovrstnosti. Z ekoremediacijsko metodo se voda uspešno zadržuje, ustvari nov habitat, očisti ostanke pesticidov in drugih hranil, ki so posledica kmetijskih dejavnosti. S tem varujemo ekosistemska pomembna območja pred onesnaženjem ter sočasno omogočamo sonaravni trajnostni razvoj na čezmejnem območju.

Il principale obbiettivo di progetto sarà l'esecuzione di interventi, volti a garantire i servizi ecosistemici sostenibili con l'aiuto di tecnologie verdi. Meno acque reflue nel Corno e nell'Adriatico, significa anche impatto positivo sullo stato di preservazione di habitat e specie. Così si ridurrà l'inquinamento dell'ambiente e migliorerà lo stato chimico-fisico dell'acqua. Migliorando lo stato ecologico del torrente e di conseguenza delle foci dell'Isonzo, nella riserva naturale “Isola della Cona” si creerà un equilibrio idoneo ed aumenterà la capacità autopulente e la biodiversità. L'iniziativa della rinaturalizzazione del torrente Corno si baserà sulle tecnologie verdi (fosso di depurazione e andamento meandrico) come anche su ecorimedi (utilizzo di sistemi e processi naturali per la tutela e il rinnovo dell'ambiente). Con la rinaturalizzazione del corso d'acqua verranno garantite la sostenibilità a lungo temine e la gestione economica. Le funzioni primarie degli ecorimedi sono le capacità autopulenti, poiché tutelano gli habitat naturali e le biodiversità. Con gli ecorimedi l'acqua viene trattenuta con successo, crea un nuovo habitat, depura dai resti di pesticidi e di altre sostanze nutrienti, presenti a causa delle attività agricole. In questo modo si tutelano importanti aree ecosistemiche dall'inquinamento ed al contempo si permette uno sviluppo ecologico sostenibile nell'area transfrontaliera.
