Description (EN):

Most schools in the North Sea Region were built in more careless times, they have a high and forever more costly energy consumption that is not in line with today’s CO2 reduction emission policies. 2IMPREZS will stimulate change in the current situation by fostering both behavioural and technical efficient energy saving measures in existing schools, reducing energy consumption and thus reducing CO2 emissions. For the first time, this project will tackle the whole spectrum of energy efficiency measures: the behavioural, the technical and the financial approaches instead of focusing on one specific field.Based on active participation and initiatives of school stakeholders (teachers, students, management), as well as on the project partners’ experiences, 2IMPREZS will create a joint energy saving programme through Energy Challenges in schools and an innovative decision making model, developed, tested and validated incorporating cost-effective educational, technical and financial measures.By reaching schools and experts throughout the NSR, 2IMPREZS will be able to collect and share experiences but also develop an energy saving programme compiling measures that are proved efficient in various settings.The implementation of the project comprehensive transnational strategy will aim to reach 30% energy savings in 141 schools in the North Sea Region representing an emission reduction of 7320 tonnes of CO2 and transform at least 4 schools into nearly zero-energy buildings.

Output Indicator: Number of green products, services and processes piloted and/ or adopted by the project Total achievement to date: 3 Explanations: There are 4 green products, services and processes included in the project: (1) Energizing School Agents 2IMPREZS- challenge, (2) IEODM- decision making tool (renamed E. Wattson), (3) NZE-schools, (4) development of digital toolsFor the first green product, the ESA-challenge was completed, though the project experienced some difficulties due to COVID-19-restrictions. An Energy Challenges manual, a document that schools can use to start an energy challenge at their school, has been made. For the second green product, the IEODM-decision making tool (E. Wattson), was produced. The tool is available for schools via http://2imprezs.sdu.dk/en/#/home. For the third green product, all involved project partners have carried out their NZE-surveys at the selected schools.The 4th green product (e.g., development of digital tools) is being developed by partners Stichting Energy Challenges and atene KOM and is being carried out according to schedule. Level of achievement: Completed and achieved as plannedOutput Indicator: Number of research institutions participating in cross-border, transnational or interregional research projects Total achievement to date: 3 Explanations: There are 2 research institutions included in the project partnership: EIFI and MCI/ SDU. EIFI announced their withdrawal from the project, but we found a new partner to take over their role in the project: atene KOM. Level of achievement: Completed and achieved as plannedOutput Indicator: Number of organizations/ enterprises adopting new solutions by project end Total achievement to date: 126 Explanations: In total, 201 schools will be involved in the project. During this reporting period, partners have made the first steps to identifying the 60 schools to partake in the digitised Energy Challenges programme. A deadline to have all Letters of Support from the additional schools to participate in the programme has been set for mid-Autumn 2022.
