Description (EN):

The overall idea of the project is to support communities situated on Natura 2000 sites, together with their institutions, associations, local public bodies and other stakeholders, in building international cooperation focused on protected and conserved areas exploitation. The aim is to increase cross-border networking of local actors responsible for most important operations in their regions, connected to the protected areas potential which are: fishery, forestry and agriculture, tourism services as well as handicraft and art. The project shows a very attractive and innovative example of how stakeholder exchange can be realized in practice. Thus it demonstrates the benefits coming from international cooperation by cross-border networks focused on Natura 2000 aspects. Taking part in cross-border cooperation is key to the development of small communities. Therefore, the project shows how to transfer good practice examples of capacity building possibilities to other communities exploiting Natura 2000 sites.

Expected Results (EN):

Most of activities planned by the project Partners need common interactions between communities from abroad. This would not be achieved without mutual sharing duties and responsibilities among participants from all countries. As the project does not focus on developing possibilities for local stakeholders but on building cross-border cooperation of stakeholders groups focused on similar goals, in order to accomplish plans, steps of cooperation will be implemented together in two partner countries, which additionally needs international financing. However the added benefits from that type of cooperation are prominent. The events which are results of active cross-border cooperation render profits for communities which take part in the project. The events yield an extra income (e.g. through visitors/tourists) which stays in each region, because it engages not only administration structures of municipalities, but most of all service providers (accommodation, transportation, suppliers etc.). For smaller municipalities like Stepnica or Karkle, such events intensify motivate start-ups and bring an inspiration to the field of green growth. Thanks to that, communities taking part in the CICPA project are keen on establishing that kind of extra activities in their operational plans.

Expected Outputs (EN): 1) Involving local actors in networks of cross-border cooperation on protected natural areas. 2) Organization of joint events on protected natural areas.
