Description (EN):

The Macaronesic Atlas of Reproductive Biology with applications to conservation generates new ideas based on reproductive models for the detection of population reproductive success with viable seeds and vigorous progeny or potential reproductive failure due to disappearance of certain individuals (phenotypes, morphs, plants) susceptible to producing fertile crosses. They will receive priority attention little known emblematic genres according to sexual or self-incompatibility systems. The project is of great interest to Conservation since reproductive failures related to population decline will generate specific, concrete and effective recovery strategies. Experimental crosses will be necessary to assess reproductive systems according to seeds and seedling survival. In Neochamaelea there will be inescapable genetic paternity analyses to verify the morphological sexual phenotypes and nature of the reproductive system.

El Atlas Macaronésico de Biología Reproductiva con aplicaciones a la conservación genera nuevas ideas sustentadas en los modelos reproductivos para la detección del éxito reproductivo poblacional con semillas viables y progenie vigorosa y/o fallo reproductivo potencial por desaparición de determinados individuos (fenotipos, morfos, plantas) susceptibles de producir los cruces fértiles. Recibirán atención prioritaria géneros emblemáticos poco conocidos según sistemas sexuales o de auto-incompatibilidad. El proyecto es de gran interés para la Conservación toda vez que los fallos reproductivos relacionados al declive poblacional, generarán estrategias de recuperación específicas, concretas y efectivas. Serán necesarios cruces experimentales para valorar los sistemas reproductivos según semillas y supervivencia de plántulas. En Neochamaelea serán ineludibles análisis genéticos de paternidad para verificar los fenotipos sexuales morfológicos y naturaleza del sistema reproductivo.
