Description (EN):

This project aims at the conservation of two key species of Pannonian Steppes and, via them, conservation of their habitats, which will give substantial contribution to achieving better conservation status to the remnants of Pannonian Stepes in both countries. Habitats of Hungarian Meadow Viper (Vipera ursini rakosiensis) will be again recconected by removing a barrier on 22 ha made by unfavorable dense vegetation (bush and woods). Therefore, comunuvcation within the population and interchanges will be easy and this species will have a better chances for long-twerm survival in its the most important habitat in Pannonian Lowland. Great Bustard (Otis tarda) in Serbia is large bird endangered primarily by terrestrian predators and intruders in to its habitats. Therefore, protective fence will be erected around its the most important breeding sites on 115 in Great Bustard Pastures Nature Reserve. This fence will sustain safe breeding, and therefore population growth on only Great Bustard ha bitat in Serbia.
