Karpaty a Alpy patria k najdôležitejším prírodným oblastiam Európy. Vďaka vyhláseniu Alpsko-karpatského koridoru vzniklo ekologické prepojenie týchto rozsiahlych území. V rámci Alpsko-karpatského riečneho koridoru by teraz malo dôjsť k zabezpečeniu a zlepšeniu prepojenia biotopov vodných živočíchov v pohraničnej oblasti Rakúska a Slovenska. Rozsiahle chránené územia v okolí Viedne a Bratislavy (Dunajské lužné lesy, Záhorie, Viedenský les, Morava) sú veľmi významné z hľadiska ochrany prírody a rekreácie. Svoju ochrannú funkciu však môžu plniť iba ak zostanú navzájom prepojené prostredníctvom koridorov. Sieť vodných tokov v tomto zohráva dôležitú úlohu. Úpravy, priečne objekty, chabá štruktúra lužných lesov a intenzívne poľnohospodárstvo v okolí rušivo vplýva na ich multifunkčný charakter. Koncepcie cezhraničnej ochrany a starostlivosti pre vybrané vodné toky (Rudava, Malina, Myjava a Močiarka na Slovensku a Schwechat a Fischa v Rakúsku) vypracúvajú odborníci z oboch krajín spoločne. Pilotné revitalizačné opatrenia zlepšia kvalitu riečnych biotopov a prispejú k lepšej protipovodňovej ochrane v oblasti. Úspešnosť realizovaných projektových opatrení bude zdokumentovaná na základe vybraných druhov (rybárik riečny, podustva severná, užovka škvrnitá, mihuľa ukrajinská). Zapojenie majiteľov susedných pozemkov, zainteresovaných strán a škôl do projektových aktivít by malo umožniť silnejšie pocítiť význam riek v rakúsko-slovenskom pohraničí a prebudiť nadšenie pre prostredie rieky.

Die Karpaten und die Alpen gehören zu den bedeutendsten Naturräumen Europas. Die Ausweisung des Alpen-Karpaten Korridors stellte sicher, dass der ökologische Verbund zwischen diesen Großräumen gewährleistet ist. Im Rahmen des Alpen Karpaten Fluss Korridors soll nun auch die Lebensraumkonnektivität für wassergebundene Organismen in der österreichisch-slowakischen Grenzregion geschützt und verbessert werden. Die im Großraum Wien-Bratislava gelegenen Großschutzgebiete (Donau-Auen, Zahorie, Wienerwald, March) sind für Naturschutz und Naherholung von herausragender Bedeutung. Sie können ihre Schutzziele jedoch nur erreichen, wenn sie über Lebensraumkorridore miteinander verbunden bleiben. Das Netzwerk der Fließgewässer übernimmt dabei eine zentrale Funktion. Regulierungen, Querbauwerke, strukturarme Auwälder und intensive Landwirtschaft im Umland beeinträchtigen deren Multi-Funktionalität. Grenzübergreifende Schutz- und Pflegekonzepte für ausgewählte Fließgewässer (Rudava, Malina, Myjava, Mociarka in der Slowakei, Schwechat und Fischa in Österreich) werden gemeinsam von Experten beider Länder erstellt. Pilothafte Revitalisierungsmaßnahmen verbessern die Lebensraumqualität der Flüsse und leisten einen Beitrag zum Hochwasserschutz in der Region. Anhand ausgewählter Leitarten (Eisvogel, Nase, Würfelnatter, Ukrainisches Bachneunauge) wird der Erfolg der umgesetzten Projektmaßnahmen dokumentiert. Die Einbindung von Anrainergemeinden, Interessierten und Schulen in die Projektaktivitäten soll die Flüsse in der österreichisch-slowakischen Grenzregion wieder verstärkt erlebbar machen und die Begeisterung für den Lebensraum Fluss wecken.

The Carpathians and the Alps belong to the most important natural areas in Europe. The designation of the Alpine-Carpathian Corridor ensured that the ecological link between these large areas is guaranteed. Habitat connectivity for aquatic organisms in the Austrian-Slovakian border region should also now be protected and improved within the framework of the Alpine Carpathian River Corridor. The large protected areas (Donau-Auen, Zahorie, Wienerwald, Morava) in the metropolitan area of Vienna-Bratislava are of outstanding importance for nature conservation and local recreation. However, they can only achieve their protection goals if they remain connected through habitat corridors. The network of waterways plays an important role in this protection. Regulations, transversal structures, weak structure of Low Riparian Forests and intensive agriculture in the surrounding area affect their multi-functionality. Cross-border protection and care concepts for selected rivers (Rudava, Malina, Myjava, Mociarka in Slovakia, Schwechat and Fischa in Austria) are being developed jointly by experts from both countries. Pilot revitalization measures improve the habitat quality of the rivers and contribute to flood protection in the region. The success of the implemented project measures is documented based on selected species (Kingfisher, Common Nase, Dice Snake, Ukrainian Brook Lamprey). The involvement of neighboring communities, interested parties and schools in the project activities should make the rivers in the Austrian-Slovak border region more tangible again and rekindle the enthusiasm for the river habitat.

Program Interreg Alpsko-karpatského riečneho koridoru vytvára platformu pre spoluprácu mnohých inštitúcií rôznych úrovní (mimovládne organizácie, správy chránených území, obce, mestá, úrad krajinskej vlády, ministerstvá) Spoločné vypracovanie strategických dokumentov: výmena skúseností v oblasti správy vodných tokov, zavádzanie spoločných štandardov, formulovanie budúcich spoločných rozvojových cieľov, strategické ukotvenie Alpsko-karpatského riečneho koridoru na regionálnej, národnej a bilaterálnej úrovni ako aj v príslušných makroregionálnych stratégiách Realizácia 13 opatrení na revitalizáciu rieky názorného charakteru: na zlepšenie kvality biotopu, posilnenie prepojenia biotopov a zabezpečenie pocítenia týchto zmien Dokumentácia a prezentácia projektových výsledkov na základe vlajkových druhov: monitorovanie a vyhodnocovanie úspechov projektu, zapojenie verejnosti a realizácia opatrení na ochranu druhov v spolupráci so školami, obcami, spolkami

Interreg Alpen Karpaten Fluss Korridor bildet eine Plattform für die Zusammenarbeit zahlreicher Institutionen unterschiedlichster Ebenen (NGOs, Schutzgebietsverwaltungen, Gemeinden, Städte, Amt der Landesregierung, Ministerien); Gemeinsame Ausarbeitung strategischer Dokumente: Erfahrungsaustausch am Gebiet des Fließgewässermanagements, Etablierung gemeinsamer Standards, Formulierung gemeinsamer zukünftiger Entwicklungsziele, strategische Verankerung des Alpen Karpaten Fluss Korridors auf regionaler, nationaler, bilateraler Ebene sowie in den relevanten makro-regionalen Strategien; Umsetzung von 13 Fluss-Revitalisierungsmaßnahmen mit Vorzeigecharakter: zur Verbesserung der Lebensraumqualität, Stärkung des Lebensraumverbundes und Sicherung der Erlebbarkeit; Dokumentation und Präsentation der Projektergebnisse anhand von Leitarten: Monitoring und Evaluierung der Projekterfolge, Einbindung der Öffentlichkeit und Artenschutzmaßnahmen gemeinsam mit Schulen, Gemeinden, Vereinen.

Expected Results (EN):

Interreg Alps Carpathian River Corridor forms a platform for the cooperation of numerous institutions of various levels (NGOs, protected area administrations, municipalities, cities, Office of the regional government, ministries); Joint development of strategic documents: exchange of experience in the field of riverine management, establishment of common standards, formulation of common future development goals, strategic anchoring of the Alpine Carpathian River Corridor at regional, national, bilateral level as well as in the relevant macro-regional strategies; Implementation of 13 River Revitalization Measures with exemplary character: to improve the quality of the habitat, to strengthen the habitat network and to ensure the experience; Documentation and presentation of the results of the project based on key types: monitoring and evaluation of project success, involvement of the public and species protection measures together with schools, communities, associations.
