Le projet CANFRANEUS II apparaît comme la poursuite du projet CANFRANEUS, présenté dans le cadre du POCTEFA 2007-2013, qui a permis de réaliser les études nécessaires à la reprise des circulations ferroviaires entre Oloron et Bedous, qui sera effective en juin 2016. A cette date, il ne restera plus que 30 km à rouvrir entre Bedous et Canfranc pour rétablir complètement la liaison ferroviaire internationale entre Pau et Saragosse, qui fait partie du RTE-T. La Communauté Autonome d’Aragon et la Région Aquitaine Limousin Poitou-Charentes ont donc souhaité poursuivre cette coopération en vue de permettre la réouverture du lien transfrontalier à l’horizon 2020. Ils ont également souhaité convier un nouveau partenaire, la Fundacion Transpirenaica. L’objectif général du projet est d’augmenter et d’améliorer les services de transport pour les voyageurs et les marchandises entre l’Aragon et l’Aquitaine, ce qui participera au développement économique et touristique durables de cette zone transfrontalière, et participera à la protection de l’environnement en favorisant le report modal de la route vers le fer. CANFRANEUS II poursuit trois objectifs : - Assurer la mise en sécurité réciproque des tunnels internationaux routier et ferroviaire - Optimiser le trafic de la ligne par la mise en oeuvre de projets économiques - Accentuer la promotion de la future liaison ferroviaire.

The CANFRANEUS II project appears as the continuation of the project CANFRANEUS presented within the framework of the POCTEFA on 2007-2013, which allowed to realize the studies necessary for the resumption of the rail traffics between Oloron and Bedous, which will be effective in June 2016. By that time, there will be no more than 30 km to be reopened between Bedous and Canfranc to restore completely the international rail link between Pau and Saragossa, which is part of TEN-T. The Autonomous Community of Aragon and the Region Aquitaine Limousin Poitou-Charentes thus wished to pursue this cooperation to allow the reopening of the cross-border link for the horizon 2020. They also wished to invite a new partner, Fundacion Transpirenaica. The general objective of the project is to increase and to improve the transport services for travelers and the goods between Aragon and Aquitaine, what will create a sustainable economic and tourist development of this cross-border zone, and will increase environmental protection by favoring modal transfer from road to rail. CANFRANEUS II pursues three objectives: - Insure mutual securisation of road and railroad international tunnels. - Optimize the traffic of the line by the implementation of economic projects. - Increase the promotion of this future rail link.

El proyecto CANFRANEUS II surge como continuación del proyecto CANFRANEUS, realizado en el marco del programa POCTEFA 2007-2013 y que permitió la realización de los estudios necesarios para la reapertura del tramo entre Oloron y Bedous, prevista para junio de 2016. Entonces, sólo faltarán 30 km entre Bedous y Canfranc para restablecer completamente la conexión ferroviaria internacional entre Pau y Zaragoza. La Comunidad Autónoma de Aragón y la Región de Aquitania desean continuar con la cooperación con vistas a la reapertura del enlace transfronterizo en el horizonte 2020. Asimismo desean contar con un nuevo socio, la Fundación Transpirenaica. El objetivo general del proyecto es aumentar y mejorar los servicios de transporte de viajeros y mercancías entre Aragón y Aquitania, lo que sin duda facilitará un desarrollo económico y turístico sostenible para esta zona transfronteriza y contribuirá a la protección del entorno al favorecer el trasvase modal de la carretera al ferrocarril. CANFRANEUS II persigue tres objetivos: - Permitir la reapertura del túnel ferroviario internacional - Asegurar la rentabilidad socioeconómica de la línea a través de proyectos económicos que van a optimizar su uso - Potenciar la promoción de la futura conexión ferroviaria
