“Pirineos La Nuit” pretende mejorar la calidad de los ecosistemas transfronterizos mediante la protección y mejora de un aspecto muy concreto: la oscuridad natural nocturna. El aumento de la contaminación lumínica supone la pérdida de este valor natural, que es, a su vez, un factor ambiental determinante en el estado de la biodiversidad, los ecosistemas, y la salud de las personas. El resultado final y principal es la elaboración de una Estrategia Pirenaica para la protección y mejora de la calidad del medio nocturno, que sirva de referencia y hoja de ruta para otros enclaves o zonas que quieran abordar la misma problemática. Para ello se llevarán a cabo actuaciones de distintas tipologías: mediciones, estudios, desarrollo de herramientas de análisis, actividades de divulgación y mediación, celebración de congresos, procesos de certificación internacional de reservas de Cielo Oscuro, o la edición de guías de buenas prácticas. El proyecto también prevé la adecuación de algunos equipamientos que servirán de centro de operaciones a las distintas acciones. El partenariado lo componen 6 socios, que desarrollarán las acciones del proyecto en varias ubicaciones emblemáticas del Pirineo: Sierra de Montsec, Hautes-Pyrénées, Valle de Roncal, Pamplona. El desarrollo y la implementación del proyecto se plantean de forma conjunta y transfronteriza. Este enfoque permitirá, entre otras cosas objetivizar y posicionar al Pirineo como referente internacional en la materia.

“Les Pyrénées La Nuit" a pour objectif d'améliorer la qualité des écosystèmes transfrontaliers à travers la protection et l’amélioration d'un aspect très concret : l'obscurité nocturne naturelle. L'augmentation de la pollution lumineuse se traduit par la perte de cette valeur naturelle, qui constitue un facteur environnemental déterminant pour la biodiversité, les écosystèmes et la santé des personnes. Le résultat final et principal est l'élaboration d'une Stratégie Pyrénéenne pour la protection et l’amélioration de la qualité du milieu nocturne, qui serve de modèle et de feuille de route à d'autres enclaves ou zones souhaitant aborder la même problématique. Pour cela des actions diverses sont prévues : mesures, études, développement d'outils d'analyse, activités de divulgation et de médiation, congrès, programmes de certification internationale de réserves de Ciel Noir, ou édition de guides de bonnes pratiques. Le projet prévoit également l'adaptation de quelques équipements qui serviront de centre d'opérations aux diverses actions. Le groupement comprend 6 partenaires, qui développeront les actions dans divers sites emblématiques des Pyrénées : la Sierra de Montsec, les Hautes-Pyrénées, la Vallée de Roncal, Pampelune. Le développement et la mise en oeuvre du projet seront assurés de manière conjointe et transfrontalière. Cette approche permettra, entre autres choses, de caractériser et de positionner les Pyrénées comme un référent international en la matière.

“Pyrenees La Nuit” aims to improve the quality of cross-bordering ecosystems by protecting and enhancing a very specific aspect: natural nighttime darkness. The increase of light pollution means a loss for this natural value, which is in fact, a decisive environmental factor for the state of biodiversity, ecosystems, and human health. The final and key result of this project is the development of a Pyrenean Strategy for the protection and improvement of the nocturnal milieu quality, which may serve as a reference and a roadmap for other enclaves or areas wanting to address the same issue. For this purpose, actions of different types will be carried out: measurements, studies, development of analytical tools, dissemination and mediation activities, congresses, international certification processes for Dark Sky reserves, or the publication of guides of best practices. The project foresees also the adaptation of some facilities that will serve as centers of operation for the different actions. The partnership is formed by 6 entities, which will develop the project's actions in different emblematic sites in the Pyrenees: Sierra de Montsec, Pic du Midi, Bagnères de Bigorre, Roncal Valley and Pamplona. The development and implementation of the project will be made in a joint and cross-bordering way. This approach will allow, among other things, to actualize and position the Pyrenees as an international reference in this field.
