Blockchain-Innovationen sind eine große und bis heute ungenutzte Chance für KMU in NWE. Sie haben das Potenzial, 3 der 5 NWE-Topsektoren mit Umsatz von €600 Mrd (Agrofood, Logistik, Gesundheit) und mit gemeinsame länderübergreifenden Datenherausforderungen zu transformieren.KMU dieser Sektoren sind angewiesen auf den Datenaustausch zur: Echtzeitlieferverfolgung über 30 Organisationen hinweg, für sensible Daten zwischen Ärzten/in der Forschung, sowie zum Gewährleisten von Produktsicherheit, -qualität und -herkunft. KMU sind anfällig in Bezug auf verzögerte Rechnungen und Cashflow, Datensicherheit und -fehler.Blockchain macht Datentransaktionen zwischen Parteien, die sich nicht vertrauen müssen effizient, automatisiert und sicher. KMU können Blockchain-Lösungen nicht allein entwickeln/implementieren, da F&E-Projekte und Investitionen meist auf große Unternehmen/den Finanzsektor ausgerichtet sind. KMU-Lösungen stecken fest auf Technology Readiness Level TRL4. BSTART entwickelt und demonstriert 4 Lösungen bis TRL6 in 12 KMU, wodurch Betriebseffizienz um 10%, Kostenreduzierung für Datenfehler um 20% und die Datensicherheit um 30% erreicht wird.BSTARTwählt 60 KMU aus UK/FR/DE/NL/BE/CH aus, die 4 Probleme gemeinsam bewältigen (z.B. Datensicherheit, Nachverfolgung und Rechnungsstellung). Ein transnationales Expertenteam (zu Geschäftsmodellen, Sicherheit und Inkubation) und KMU entwickeln gemeinsam Lösungen wie digitale Smart-Verträge, E-Krankenakten oder kombinierte Lebensmittel-Datenbanken. Sektor- und länderübergreifende Herausforderungen ermöglichen Lösungen mit gemeinsamer Architektur von 70% und nur 30% Anpassung. Die transnationale Kooperation weist KMU an, Datensätze oder Blöcke in die Kette einzutragen, wodurch Mehrwert aus der Masse generiert wird. 1710 KMU werden Zugang zu Lösungen und Ergebnissen haben, beginnend mit 300 KMU mit €100 Mio. Umsatz und 500 Arbeitsplätzen in fünf Jahren. Dies bringt NWE an die Spitze der EU-Blockchain-Innovation.

L'innovation blockchain est une opportunité inestimée pour les PME d'Europe du Nord-Ouest (ENO) et peut transformer 3 (agroalimentaire, logistique et santé) des 5 secteurs majeurs d ’ENO, partageant des défis transnationaux liés aux données et représentant 600m€ de CA.Les PME de ces 3 secteurs comptent fortement sur les échanges de données (garantie de l’origine et la qualité de production, suivi en temps réel de colis ou échanges de dossiers médicaux confidentiels entre praticiens ou pour la recherche). Les PME sont très sensibles aux risques liés aux délais de paiement, trésorerie, sécurité et erreurs de données.BSTART améliore les transactions qui deviennent automatisées, efficaces et sécurisées entre plusieurs partis sans qu’ils n’aient à se faire confiance. Les PME sont incapables, seules, d’intégrer de telles solutions: la majorité des projets R&D innovants vise les grands groupes/le secteur de la finance, et les solutions dédiées aux PME stagnent au niveau de maturité technologique (TRL) 4. BSTART développe et promeut 4 solutions pour 12 PME: efficacité opérationnelle (+10%), coûts dûs aux erreurs de données (-20%) et ceux dûs à la sécurité des données (-30%).BSTART choisit 60 PME en UK/FR/DE/NL/BE pour relever 4 défis communs (ex. suivi et facturation des données). Une équipe transnationale d’experts (business modèles, sécurité et incubation) et de PME co-développent (TRL 4 à 6) des solutions telles que smart contract, dossiers médicaux électroniques ou bases de données combinées. Les solutions, à ces défis transversaux, seront réplicables (70%) et personnalisables (30%). La collaboration transnationale connectera multiples organisations et PME pour ajouter leurs informations à la chaîne, créant ainsi une grande valeur ajoutée. 1710 PME liées aux partenaires auront accès à tous les tests et résultats. S’en suivra l’adoption par 300 PME, soit 100€m de CA et 500 emplois en 5 ans, plaçant l’ENO à la pointe de l’innovation blockchain.

Blockchain innovation is a big yet unseized opportunity for SMEs in NWE. It has the potential to transform 3 of NWE’s top 5 sectors with €600bn turnover (agrofoods, logistics, health) that have shared transnational data challenges.SMEs in agrofoods, health and logistics rely heavily on data transactions across countries, eg; tracking shipments real-time across 20-30 organisations, sharing sensitive medical records between practitioners or for research, or assuring the safety, quality, and origin of food produce. SMEs are particularly vulnerable to risks in delayed invoices & cash flow, data security, and errors in data.Blockchain transforms data transactions by allowing for automated, efficient and secure transactions between parties that do not need to trust each other. SMEs are unable to develop & implement blockchain solutions alone, with most R&D projects and investments targeting large corporates/the finance sector, and SME-specific solutions are stuck at Technology Readiness Level TRL 4. BSTART develops and demonstrates 4 blockchain solutions to TRL 6 in 12 SMEs enabling 10% operational efficiency, reducing costs of data errors by 20% and data security by 30%. BSTART selects 60 SMEs from UK/FR/DE/NL/BE to target 4 shared challenges (eg data security, tracking & invoicing). A transnational team of experts (on business models, security and incubation) and SMEs co-develop solutions such as digital smart contracts, medical e-records or combined food databases. Cross-sectoral transnational challenges allow solutions with 70% common architecture & only 30% customisation. Transnational collaboration enables connecting multiple organisations and SMEs to enter their records or blocks to the chain, thus creating value from critical mass. 1710 SMEs in partner networks will have access to the solutions and results of the testing, with 300 SMEs adopting, adding €100m turnover and 500 jobs in 5y. This brings NWE to the helm of EU blockchain innovation.

Expected Outputs (EN): BC solutions for health, logistics & agrofood SMEs are at TRL 4, and not yet used by SMEs. 1700 sector-SMEs (<1%) in NWE are aware of BC potential. Data-related costs of current operations (eg overhead) are at avrg €5-10M of €150-200M annual turnover.
