Description (EN):

NEW FINANCE project is designed to improve the lives of people by driving leadership in energy innovation. More than 4500 municipalities in the MED area have committed to increasing energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources on their territories by joining the Covenant of Mayors initiative; our task is to showcase proven implementation models they use and the results they achieved to help accelerate new investment and savings in and beyond the MED area allowing for cross-country comparisons. The project will take a step towards making energy efficiency investment easier by increasing the confidence of key decision makers from public and finance sector to find and apply working strategies for mobilisation of private funding and better use of ESI funds. In order to reach this goal, the project will focus on effective replication and smart networking activities equally involving stakeholders from public and private sector whilst capitalizing on a number of previous and ongoing similar initiatives.

Le projet NEW FINANCE est imaginé d'améliorer la vie des gens par la stimulation des innovations dans les domaines de l'énergie. Plus de 4500 villes de la MED, associées aux initiatives de la Convention des Maires (Convenant of Mayors), se sont engagées à l'amélioration de l'efficacité énergétique et à l'augmentation de l'usage des sources d'énergie renouvelable sur leur territoires; notre tâche est de présenter les modèles prouvés et implementés qu'elles utilisent et les résultats atteints pour accélérer les nouveaux investissements ainsi que les épargnes dans la zone MED et à l'exterieur avec la possibilité de comparaison entre les pays. Le projet fera une bonne marche vers la réalisation des investissements de l'efficacité énergétique plus facile à travers du relèvement de la confiance des decideurs clés (Key Decision Makers) dans la domaine d'activité publique et financière afin de trouver et d'appliquer les stratégies effectives pour la mobilisation des fonds privés et d'obtenir meilleur usages de fonds ESI. Pour atteindre ce but, le projet se concentrira à la réplication effective et à l'activité intelligente sur le réseau de communications (networking activities) des acteurs des secteurs publics et privés en capitalisant les nombreuses initiatives précédentes et actuelles.

Achievements (EN):

Within this reporting period the following results and outputs have been produced:- Integrated marketing solutions which include printed versions of project promotional tools such as 5 different motivational posters and project leaflet, translated in 5 languages.- Digital solutions – 4 educational videos created for public building owners in partners' countries about possibilities for financing energy efficiency measures in public buildings. More 2 videos should be completed in the next semester.- 3 more good practice examples of financing EE projects in public buildings published on the NF e-platform- 4 NFA retreats have been organized in 4 partners countries. These events were organized for stakeholders including key decision makers from public sector and private sector (financial institutions and ESCOs.). Retreats included series of interactive lectures, panels and roundtables focusing on constructive communication and networking in order to introduce new business models with the key theme of promoting energy efficiency in buildings and innovative financial instruments in the context of stimulating investment. The main goal of the retreat was crating alliances between public and financial sector in order to create financial scheme which will stimulate private participation in energy efficiency project investments and bring benefits to end users.- Business case for EE and RES in public buildings which has been developed based on transnational research, statistical data and real case studies and which provides an overview of the status of energy renovation in 6 countries: regulations, building stock, trends, funding. BC identifies drivers, opportunities and risks under the points of view of buildign owneres, baks and enterprises, presents possible financing mechanisms for public buildings' energy renovation and act as a decision support and planning tool and provides practical guidance for managing energy efficiency projects. - 1 Training of trainers (1 day course for trainers) has been organized in Malta. 6 trainers (1 per partner) has been prepared for implementation of BEM trainings for public authorities in their countries.- 1 Training Manual for Trainers - a guidebook for trainers from the project partners to facilitate the delivery of training on a local level is produced as a supporting material for BEM trainers.- 3 Better energy management trainings for building owners (public sector) have been organized in Slovenia
