Description (EN):

The project objective was to increase the number of cultural exchanges and to raise public awareness at the level of professional integration of people with disabilities. At the same time the project team focused on increasing the exchange of the adoption of the existing practices in the cross-border area among CSOs, institutions and professional associations. The project was created with the aim of improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities and creating opportunities for their professional integration. It supported the social, economic and cultural development of the cross-border area through the creation of new connections between communities, institutions, associations and private enterprises in the region, working on the social integration and employability of persons with disabilities.

Achievements (EN):

The project provided the necessary grounds for reducing discrimination and increased awareness of the issues related to challenges that this venerable group is facing in their everyday life. The implementation of the project has resulted in more frequent cultural exchanges and developed public awareness on the issue related to professional integration of persons with disabilities. The promotion of new tools for social cohesion in the border area has been initiated. The direct and tailored capacity building activities for people with disabilities resulted in mastering the new professional skills and enabling the start-up of social enterprises in both countries. At the same time, the information exchange on existing best practices in the cross-border area between civil society organizations and institutions was substantially enhanced.
