Description (EN):

The overall objective of ECOTOUR-NET is to contribute the development & diversification of eco-tourism activities taking care of natural and cultural resources “protection & use” balance, to improve the welfare of the people in the Black Sea Basin. Eco tourism, which provides significant contributions in terms of income and employment in the Black Sea Region, aimed to be developed in direct proportion to the high potential of the Region. İn order to increase the average overnights of foreigners in the region which is below the international average, it is necessary to diversify tourism products and services and to extend the tourism activities all over the year. Within this scope, it is aimed to diversify the activities currently limited to specific routes and themes for foreign visitors, in line with the natural and cultural potentials of the region. A variety of eco tourism activity routes and locations will be created to increase the number of tourism revenues and visitors. So as to develop eco tourism activities in 5 regions, 18 routes and 48 locations will be created. After the small scale investmens there will be 10 cycling, 6 hiking, 2 educational tour routes and 4 bird watching, 32 recreational, 10 photobank and 2 local products selling locations ready for performing activities. A web portal (6 multi languages supported), a mobile application (İOS/Android), 10.000 outdoor guides and 15.000 hand maps, 100 minutes promotional film and 5 virals will be prepared and will play an important role in promoting and introducing the eco tourism in the region. Especially in planning their visits and obtaining information during all excursions, booking and having a healthy and an efficient visit and ensuring the security for the people who are out of the region and interested in eco tourism. 50 touristic facility personnel, 25 local guides and 50 rural women (totally 125 people) will be trained to improve their sectoral knowledge and skill capacity. Project partners will participate as co-organizers of traditional festivals in 4 regions. The products of 10 local producers from 5 regions will be exhibited. 1 International tour operations Workshop will be organized in GR with the objective of preparing and selling individual and integrated tour packages from the created routes and locations. At least 5 tour packages will be prepared for marketing by the operators. Local enterprises and rural population will generate income by the development of eco-tourism activities and that will provide a broad mass of local supporters for the project. With this role, local population and enterprises will be more effective actors with solutions to regional problems, sharing ICT tools, and having the ability to intervene actively in the region';s economy and ecology. This strategic transformation will build the baseline of sustainable tourism in the region.

Achievements (EN):

Main achievements of the project: 1. The following tourism products (routes and locations) were developed and implemented by the partnership: In Turkey: 2 cycling routes, 2 hiking routes, 2 bird watching, 6 recreational locations, 10 photo bank - locations, 2 local marketing points; In Ukraine: 2 cycling routes, 12 recreational locations; In Greece: 2 cycling routes, 2 hiking routes; In Georgia: 2 cycling routes, 2 hiking routes, 1 bird watching, 5 recreational locations, 2 educational tour routes; In Bulgaria: 2 cycling routes, 1 bird watching location, 9 recreational locations. 2. Establishment of an İCT İnfrastructure: - The project web portal https://ecotournet.net/ is fully operational; - By using the Mobile Application ( IOS/Android), the hiking and cycling routes appear on the map and interactive navigation is provided with 360 panoramic images loaded on the locations on the route; - The Outdoor Guide and Hand Maps for the use of tourists; - The Promotional film has been made for all regions, focused on the routes and locations defined within the project as well as other natural and cultural values of the regions. 3. Cross border Festivals During the festivals, the local producers had the chance to promote their products. Local people, rural women sold their products and saw that many people (activity followers) were interested in eco-tourism and visit their region, they gained motivation to increase the quality of the festivals. Ecotour-Net is one of the networks of the local stakeholders that make up ecotourism in the Black Sea Region. With the festival and the tour operators’ workshop realised within the scope of the project, both local producers, individuals and companies bringing tourists to the local regions had the opportunity to see the other side of the border simultaneously. With these activities, both products and experiences are shared, and the capacity to produce joint solutions increased.

Expected Results (EN): R 1.1 Strength of cross-border business opportunities in the tourism and cultural sectors

Expected Outputs (EN):

1- The number of eco-tourism activity tracks, routes and locations;18 routes 48 recreational location; Providing tourism diversity in the region, spread tourist arrivals to all seasons, increasing the number and duration of overnight accommodation, an increase in the number of visitors and increase in the sector's employment and economic capacity. 2- The number of ICT tools and multi-lingual informative publications and materials; Brochures (10.000) + posters (500), outdoor guide (10.000) hand maps (15.000), web portal (1), mobil application (1), promotional film (1), virals (5), 560 panoramic shots; The visibility and infrastructural outputs of the action will contribute the development of the ecotourism activities in the regions, also dissemination and transferability of the actions. Cross border acitivites and events will attract different groups to the region. 3- The number of cross border tourism and cultural events organised using ENI support (5)- 4 festivals and a tour operation workshop); 4 traditional festival; total, 16 people from 4 partner locations will participate in 4 festivals and 8 local producers will have the opportunity to exhibit their products. Synergies between the local producers will be created which will boost cross border joint action. 2 day workshop in Greece; Held with a total of at least 50 people. At least 5 tour packages created by the discussions and meetings. Photographs, presentations, participant signatures, tour schedules will be submitted with the reports. 4- The number of person participated vocational, skill development trainings; 125people; 50 rural women (10 hours), 50 staff from local tourism facilities; (10 hours), 25 Local Guides (20 hours); Trainings for disadvantaged groups (rural women, unemployed youth) will strenghten the vocational and enterpreunership capacity of the local population, which will contribute the welfare of the local. Training document and records will be presented.
