Description (EN): During the 14th and 17th c., the area of the Province of Belluno and the regions of Tyrol and Friuli experienced an economic rise due to the exploitation of two major resources, wood and iron. The Province of Belluno acquired fame throughout Europe thanks to its swordsmiths who forged blades of highest quality. These blades were then marketed abroad and cherished by the eminent monarchs of the day, such as Maximilian I. The iron mine of Fursil, managed by the Bishopric of Brixen, was vital for this success as its iron ore was skilfully extracted by miners coming from all parts of the Empire, Tyrol in particular, and was characterised by high elasticity and anti-rust properties. At that time, the Maniago area became a major production site of blades, a tradition still continued today both industrially and as a handcraft. All participating areas are united by specific features which intertwine thanks to the shared history - the territory was once governed by the Republic of Venice, represented by the St. Mark’s Lion, or by the eagle of the Hapsburg Empire. As part of this interdisciplinary project proposal, the following measures will be adopted in order to enhance the tangible and intangible heritage: creation of a tourist route crossing the three regions; renovation of sites linked to sword manufacture; organisation of cross-border events; educational initiatives; cooperation in the context of advanced research programme, the creation of a hoplologic cataloguing system.
Read more Description (IT): Tra i secc. XIV e XVII l'area bellunese, friulana e tirolese fu investita da un'importante fioritura economica grazie allo sfruttamento delle risorse legno e ferro. La provincia di Belluno divenne celebre grazie alla fama dei maestri spadai capaci di forgiare spade di altissima qualità, commercializzate in Europa e ambite da sovrani come Massimiliano d’Asburgo. Fondamentali furono le Miniere del Fursil gestite dal Vescovo di Bressanone e il cui acciaio naturale, con proprietà elastiche e antiruggine, veniva cavato da minatori provenienti dall’Impero ed in particolare dall’area del Tirolo. Nello stesso periodo anche l’area di Maniago fu luogo di produzione delle celebri lame, prodotto ancora oggi qui realizzato sia a livello artigianale che industriale. Ogni territorio coinvolto nel progetto ha peculiarità precise che si fondono tra loro grazie alla storia comune che ha visto l’area governata sia dalla Repubblica di Venezia, rappresentata dal leone marciano, che dall’Impero asburgico con l’aquila bicipite. La proposta progettuale interdisciplinare mira alla valorizzazione di questo patrimonio tangibile ed intangibile attraverso la creazione di un percorso turistico lungo le tre regioni, il recupero di luoghi legati alla produzione delle spade, l’organizzazione di eventi transfrontalieri, l’ideazione di attività didattiche, la cooperazione nello studio e nella ricerca, la creazione di un sistema di catalogazione oplologico.

Jahrhundert erlebte die Provinz Belluno zusammen mit Friaul und Tirol eine wirtschaftliche Hochblüte dank der Nutzung zweier wichtigen Ressourcen: Holz und Eisen.Belluno wurde dank der hierzulande tätigen Schwertschmiede berühmt, die höchstwertige Blankwaffen schufen, die im ganzen Europa und selbst von Monarchen, wie z.B. Maximilian I., begehrt wurden.Die Eisenmine in Fursil trug weiter zum Erfolg der Blankwaffen aus Belluno bei, da der Naturstahl, der in dieser Eisenmine von Bergarbeitern aus Tirol abgewonnen wurde, ist durch hervorragende elastische und rosthemmende Eigenschaften charakterisiert.In dieser Zeit etablierte sich auch die Zone von Maniago als Herstellungsort von Klingen, die heute noch industriell und handwerklich weiterproduziert werden.Die Gebiete, die am Projekt teilnehmen, besitzen eine gemeinsame Geschichte und ineinandergreifende Traditionen, da sie vom Markuslöwe der Republik Venedig und vom habsburgischen Adler dominiert wurden.Im Rahmen dieses fachübergreifenden Projektvorschlags wird die Nutzung des materiellen und immateriellen Kulturerbes angestrebt, indem folgende Massnahmen ergriffen werden: Schaffung einer Touristenroute entlang der drei Gebiete; Wiederbelebung der Orte, die mit der Schwerterzeugung in Verbindung stehen; Realisierung von grenzüberschreitenden Events, Bildungsinitiativen, Zusammenarbeit im Rahmen von Spitzenforschungsprogramms und die Erstellung vom innovativen hoplologischen Katalogisierungssystem.

Expected Results (EN): The aim of the project is to unite the peculiarities of the regions involved with an approach of valorisation of their riches at a historical-cultural level, tourism, traditions and skills. The territory involved has a cultural and natural heritage of the highest level
including the Dolomites area, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cross-border cooperation between the provinces of Belluno and Pordenone and the Tyrol will be strengthened by creating new synergies in the field of culture and tourism that allow a competitive and sustainable development of the area and that strengthen public-private partnerships. This territory has a high quality of life, but at the same time also a growing depopulation of the mountain and birth rates with predominantly negative trends. The project therefore aims to create a new awareness in the inhabitants regarding the tourist and therefore economic potential of the area by presenting an itinerary that connects the sites of interest linked to the the extraction and processing of iron and recreating from the tourist point of view what was once a real productive district proto-industrial that from the Tyrol with its specialized miners, passing through the province of Belluno with the mines and the skill of the swordsmen, reached Maniago with the famous production of blades. The enhancement of this tangible and intangible cultural heritage made up of mines, factories, knowledge and ancient traditions will be implemented through an active and fruitful confrontation with the past offering stimuli to the development of sustainable tourism proposals and the seasonal adjustment of tourism. Through research activities, the creation of exhibition and educational spaces, The project aims to combine the three main objectives of the project: the recovery of historical sites, the creation of a tourist route, study and research, and the organization of dedicated events. Regions that over the centuries have shared fundamental human capital and knowledge.
Read more Expected Results (IT): L’obiettivo del progetto è di unire le peculiarità delle regioni coinvolte con un approccio di valorizzazione delle proprie ricchezze a livello storicoculturale, turistico, di tradizioni e di competenze. Il territorio coinvolto presenta un patrimonio culturale e naturale di altissimo livello comprendendo anche l’area delle Dolomiti Patrimonio UNESCO. La cooperazione transfrontaliera tra le province di Belluno, di Pordenone e il Tirolo verrà rafforzata creando nuove sinergie in ambito culturale e turistico che permettano uno sviluppo competitivo e sostenibile dell’area e che potenzino le collaborazioni pubblico-private. Questo territorio ha un’alta qualità della vita, ma allo stesso momento anche un crescente spopolamento della montagna e tassi di natalità con trend prevalentemente negativi. Il progetto vuole quindi creare una nuova coscienza negli abitanti relativa alle potenzialità turistiche e dunque economiche dell’area presentando un itinerario che colleghi i siti di interesse legati all’estrazione e alla lavorazione del ferro e ricreando dal punto di vista turistico quello che un tempo era un vero e proprio distretto produttivo protoindustriale che dal Tirolo con i suoi minatori specializzati, passando per la provincia di Belluno con le miniere e l’abilità degli spadai, raggiungeva Maniago con la celebre produzione delle lame. La valorizzazione di questo patrimonio culturale tangibile e intangibile fatto di miniere, opifici, saperi e tradizioni antichi verrà attuata attraverso un confronto attivo e proficuo con il passato offrendo stimoli allo sviluppo di proposte turistiche sostenibili e alla destagionalizzazione del turismo. Attraverso le attività di ricerca, di realizzazione di spazi espositivi e didattici, di recupero di storici siti, di creazione di un percorso turistico, di studio e ricerca, di organizzazione di eventi dedicati, il progetto vuole unire le tre regioni che nei secoli hanno condiviso fondamentali capitali umani e di conoscenze.
Read more Expected Results (DE): Das Projektziel ist die Bündelung der Besonderheiten der einzelnen Gebieten durch ihre Aufwertung der Vielfalt in historischer, kultureller, touristischer und traditioneller Hinsicht. Das gesamte Territorium stellt ein Kultur- und Naturerbe von größter Wichtigkeit dar und beinhaltet die Dolomiten, die zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehören. Die grenzübergreifende Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Provinzen Belluno und Pordenone und dem Land Tirol, wird durch Schaffung von Synergien im kulturellen und touristischen Bereich verstärkt und die wettbewerbsfähige und nachhaltige Entwicklung in der Region ermöglichen und die Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem öffentlichen Sektor und Privaten vorantreiben. Trotz ihres hohen Lebensstandards, sind die Gebiete jedoch durch eine zunehmende Entvölkerung der Bergregionen und einen Rückgang der Geburtenraten bei den jüngeren Generationen charakterisiert. Ziel des Projekts ist die Bewusstseinsbildung in der Bevölkerung über die vorhandenen Potentiale im wirtschaftlichen Bereich. Es wird dabei eine Touristenroute vorgestellt, die mit der Gewinnung und Verarbeitung von Eisen relevanten Sehenswürdigkeiten, abdeckt. Auf diese Weise wird ein Gebiet nachgebildet, das aus touristischer Sicht eine protoindustrielle Zone der Vergangenheit darstellt, beginnend in Tirol, mit seinen Bergarbeitern, über die in Provinz Belluno vorhandenen Schwertschmieden und Bergwerken und schliesslich in Maniago, wo die berühmten Klingen erzeugt wurden. Die Aufwertung dieses Kulturerbes, zusammengesetzt aus Bergwerken, Werkstätten, Wissen und antiken Traditionen, wird zur Förderung des nachhaltigen Tourismus bzw. zur saisonalen Anpassung des touristischen Angebots beitragen. Das Projekt strebt die Vereinigung der drei Regionen durch die Umsetzung folgender Maßnahmen: Schaffung von Ausstellungs- und Lehrräumen, die Wiederherstellung historischer Stätten, die Organisation von Veranstaltungen, sowie die Realisierung einer Route, wo man die gemeinsame Geschichte erforschen kann.

At least 200 companies will receive non-financial support thanks to this project and will benefit from the activities and results of the project. They all belong to the category of tour operators and are in particular hospitality managers, tourist guides and nature guides.
CO23 - Area of habitats benefiting from support aimed at achieving a better state of conservation Hectare 60.00 The beneficiary territory is included in the municipality of Santa Giustina as regards the recovery of irrigation ditches and in the area of the mines of Frosnitz as regards the archaeological excavations that will be carried out.

Verrà valorizzata una parte dell’area inserita nel territorio delle Dolomiti Patrimonio dell’Umanità UNESCO, tre musei e l’area delle miniere del Frosnitz, oltre al territorio dei comuni di Belluno e Santa Giustina che rientrano in parte nel Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi.
OI5 - Numero di nuovi prodotti per la valorizzazione dell’attrattività del patrimonio naturale e culturale: 3,00. Realizzazione di un centro visite al Castello di Maniago, della Sala degli Spadai presso il Museo Civico di Belluno e della guida all’itinerario storico-turistico.
CO04 - Numero di imprese che ricevono un sostegno non finanziario: 200,00. Indichiamo in almeno 200 le imprese che riceveranno un sostegno non finanziario grazie a questo progetto e che beneficeranno dei delle attività e dei risultati del progetto. Appartengono tutti alla categoria degli operatori turistici e sono in particolare i gestori dell’ospitalità, le guide turistiche e le guide naturalistiche.
CO23 - Superficie degli habitat beneficiari di un sostegno finalizzato al raggiungimento di un migliore stato di conservazione Ettaro 60,00 Il territorio beneficiario è inserito nel Comune di Santa Giustina per quanto riguarda il recupero delle rogge e nell’area delle miniere del Frosnitz per quanto riguarda gli scavi archeologici che verranno effettuati.

Mindestens 200 Unternehmen werden im Rahmen dieses Projekts nicht-finanzielle Unterstützung erhalten und von den Aktivitäten und Ergebnissen des Projekts profitieren. Sie alle gehören zur Kategorie der Reiseveranstalter und sind insbesondere Hotelmanager, Reiseleiter und Naturführer.
CO23 - Gebiet der Lebensräume, die von der Unterstützung zur Erreichung eines besseren Erhaltungszustandes profitieren Hectare 60.00 Das begünstigte Gebiet gehört zur Gemeinde Santa Giustina bei der Wiederherstellung der Bewässerungsgräben und im Gebiet der Bergwerke Frosnitz bei den durchzuführenden archäologischen Grabungen.
