Description (EN):

The project “Connection of “green” and “blue” ways in natural heritage territories” contributes to the preservation of the natural heritage of Ełk County and Birštonas Municipality and strengthening tourism potential of both regions. The aim of the project is the development of cross border regions through efficient and more sustainable use of natural heritage by creating of new eco transport ways, solutions and connections between them. The project involves both Lithuania-Poland cross border regions investing in natural heritage resources to create the infrastructure for a new tourist attraction and to change tourists' and local inhabitants' habits to use a bike as a local or daily transport, development of tourism promotion solutions and experience sharing between institutions of the project partners. Additionally the project’s results will be manifold: the greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by use non-motorized means of transport, especially the bicycle, the use of renewable energy solutions for a lighting of routes will enlarge the safety and reduce the energy consumption from electric networks, both regions will be enriched and mutual cross-border promotion will be enhanced.

Projekt "Połączenie dróg rowerowych i wodnych na obszarach dziedzictwa naturalnego" przyczyni się do zachowania dziedzictwa przyrodniczego Powiatu Ełckiego i Gminy Birsztany oraz wzmocnienia potencjału turystycznego obu regionów. Celem projektu jest rozwój regionów transgranicznych poprzez efektywne i bardziej zrównoważone wykorzystanie dziedzictwa naturalnego poprzez tworzenie nowych ekologicznych tras, rozwiązań komunikacyjnych i połączeń między nimi. Projekt obejmuje zarówno regiony transgraniczne Litwy i Polski inwestujące w zasoby dziedzictwa naturalnego w celu stworzenia infrastruktury dla nowej atrakcji turystycznej, jak i zmiany nawyków lokalnych mieszkańców, aby korzystać z roweru jako lokalnego lub codziennego transportu, rozwoju rozwiązań promocji turystyki i wymiany doświadczeń między instytucjami partnerów projektu. Dodatkowo wyniki projektu będą różnorodne: emisja gazów cieplarnianych zostanie zmniejszona poprzez wykorzystanie niezmotoryzowanych środków transportu, w szczególności rowerów, wykorzystanie rozwiązań energii odnawialnej do oświetlania tras zwiększy bezpieczeństwo i zmniejszy zużycie energii elektrycznej sieci, oba regiony zostaną wzbogacone, a wzajemna promocja transgraniczna zostanie wzmocniona.

Projektas "Žaliųjų" ir "mėlynųjų" kelių jungtys gamtos paveldo teritorijose" siekia išsaugoti Ełk apskrities ir Birštono savivaldybės gamtos paveldą ir stiprinti abiejų regionų turizmo potencialą. Projekto tikslas - plėtoti pasienio regionus, naudojant veiksmingą ir tvaresnį gamtos paveldo naudojimą, sukuriant naujus ekologiško transporto takus, sprendimus ir ryšius tarp jų. Projektas apima Lietuvos ir Lenkijos pasienio regionuose esančius gamtos paveldo išteklius, kuriuose kuriama nauja turistų traukos infrastruktūra, įpareigojanti keisti vietos gyventojų ir turistų įpročius naudojant dviračius kaip vietinio susisiekimo ar kasdieninį transportą, kuria turizmo skatinimo sprendimus ir dalijamasi patirtimi tarp projekto partnerių institucijų. Be to, projekto rezultatai bus daugialypiai: bus mažinamas šiltnamio efektą sukeliančių dujų kiekis naudojant nemotorines transporto priemones, ypač dviračius, panaudojami atsinaujinančios energijos šaltiniai apšviečiant dviračių trasas ir taip užtikrinant jų saugumą bei mažinant energijos poreikį iš centralizuotų elektros tinklų, regionuose bus atnaujinta infrastruktūra, o abipusė reklama prisidės prie regiono abipus sienos žinomumo didinimo.

Achievements (EN):

Within the project, Žvėrinčius forest bike route (1st stage) has been developed. Building works of "Bunelka bike route" by Elk County + building works of "Bunelka bike route" by Elk forest district have been done. Equipment has been purchased - Pontoon piers - 5 sets; Benches - 40 pcs., Smart benches with charges and solar panels - 2 pcs.; Wireless visitor counter - 1 pcs.; E-bikes - 4 sets.; Solar lighting for bike routes (lamps with posts) - 50 pcs.
