Im Projekt HochNaB soll die Eignung von Hochvolt-Energiespeichern auf Basis von Natrium-Ionen Batterien zur Integration in marktgetriebene Applikationen untersucht und erste Systemvarianten entwickelt werden. Dazu bedarf es der Nutzung grenzüberschreitend vorhandenen Knowhows, um vorhandene FuE-Kapazitäten bei den KMU in Österreich und Bayern zu stärken und idealerweise eine grenzüberschreitende Wertschöpfungskette zu initiieren. Durch die Unternehmenspartner des Projekts, die österreichischen KMUs BlueSky Energy aus Oberösterreich, sun.e solution aus Osttirol und das deutsche KMU Smart1 Solutions aus Oberbayern gemeinsam mit dem Forschungspartner Technologiezentrum Energie aus Niederbayern werden unternehmensbezogenen Forschungs-, Entwicklungsaktivitäten gefördert. Zusätzlich können die bestehenden Expertisen und das Equipment der im Projekt COMPSTOR (AB43 INTERREG BAY_AUT) aufgebauten Plattform optimal genutzt werden. Durch angewandte Forschung und Entwicklung in dem Projekt werden zusammen mit den Unternehmenspartnern Produkte für die im Wandel befindlichen Nachfragestrukturen entwickelt. Batterien auf Basis von Na-Ionen sind eine sichere und zukunftsträchtige Alternative für Lithiumbasierte Speichertechnologien, die eine zuverlässige und umweltfreundliche Lösung für Heim- und Industrieanwendungen darstellt. Das System kommt weitgehend ohne kritische Rohstoffe aus, deren Preis und Verfügbarkeit stark von politischen Strömungen und Schwankungen am Weltmarkt abhängt. Darüber hinaus trägt diese Technologie zur Umsetzung der Strategien zur Nutzung erneuerbarer Energie im Fördergebiet bei. Die Projektpartner bringen dabei ihre spezifischen Kompetenzen bei der Definition der elektromechanischen Anforderungen, der systemtechnischen Integration, der Sicherstellung der Betriebssicherheit und der Entwicklung von systemspezifischen Applikationen ein, um die Technologie nachfrageorientiert weiterzuentwickeln.

Description (EN):

The HochNaB project aims to investigate the suitability of high-voltage energy storage systems based on sodium-ion batteries for integration into market-driven applications and to develop initial system variants. This requires the use of cross-border know-how to strengthen existing R & D capacities among SMEs in Austria and Bavaria and ideally initiate a cross-border value chain. The company partners of the project, the Austrian SMEs BlueSky Energy from Upper Austria, sun.e solution from East Tyrol and the German SME Smart1 Solutions from Upper Bavaria, together with the research partner Technologiezentrum Energie from Lower Bavaria, support company-related research and development activities. In addition, the existing expertise and equipment of the platform built up in the CompStor project (AB43 INTERREG BAY_AUT) can be optimally used. Through applied research and development in the project, products for the changing demand structures are developed together with the company partners. Na-ion-based batteries are a safe and forward-looking alternative to lithium-based storage technologies that provide a reliable and environmentally friendly solution for home and industrial applications. The system is largely without critical raw materials, the price and availability of which depends heavily on political trends and fluctuations in the world market. In addition, this technology contributes to the implementation of renewable energy strategies in the assisted area. The project partners contribute their specific competencies in the definition of electromechanical requirements, systemic integration, ensuring operational safety and the development of system-specific applications in order to further develop the technology demand-oriented.

Expected Outputs (DE): Dieses Projekt mit vier Projektpartnern bildet die Grundlage für ein internationales Netzwerk für innovative und alternative Speichertechnologien und wird entsprechend Arbeitsplätze in den Partnerregionen schaffen und absichern.
