Description (EN):

The partners have implemented in the years 2015-2016 the project “Joint strategy for waste water management in the area of Danube hydrological basin” financed through the Romania-Serbia IPA program. In the frame of this project the partners have developed full technical documentation for the realization of sewer system in both localities (of 47 km of technical plans for Commune Dumbravita and 55 km of technical plans for Obstina Golubac). In this new project the partners wants to build on the previous experience and construct a part of the system, contributing in this way to the improvement of the quality of the water reservoir in the Danube hydrologic system. Comuna Dumbravita will build a sewer system 7341 m long including streets that do not beneficiate from sewer network. Municipality of Golubac wants to build a secondary sewer network of 2619 m long. Beside the construction work both partner will participate at an awareness raising campaign about the importance of water protection and reduction of water consumption. Also the project partners will establish cooperation between employees working with issues of water and sewers to help them to identify best practices, to exchange knowledge and to transfer the best practices identified.

Achievements (EN):

The partners implemented in the years 2015-2016 the project “Joint strategy for wastewater management in the area of Danube hydrological basin”, financed through the previous Romania-Serbia IPA Programme. In that first project, the partners developed the complete technical documentation to realise the sewer system in both localities covering 47 km for Dumbravita Commune and 55 km for Golubac Municipality. In this new project, the partners built on the previous experience and constructed a part of the system, indirectly improving the quality of the water reservoir in the Danube hydrologic system. Dumbravita Commune made a sewer system that included streets previously not connected to the sewer network. The municipality of Golubac built a secondary sewer network. Besides the construction work, both partners organised awareness-raising campaigns about the importance of water protection and reducing water consumption. During the project, employees working with issues of water and sewers from Romania and Serbia cooperated. The project partners helped them identify best practices, exchange knowledge, and transfer the best practices identified. DEGREE OF ACHIEVEMENT OF INDICATORS: 1 Sewer system in Dumbravita – 100%. 1 Establishment of cross-border cooperation system – 100%. 1 Sewer system in Golubac – 100%. 470 people benefiting from the awareness raising campaign – 100%. RESULTS ACHIEVED: 2 Cross border cooperation structures supported in the field of transport and public utilities – 100%. 1 Investment realized in transport and utilities infrastructure, including improvement, enhancement of existing infrastructure – 100%. 470 Participants to information/ training/ awareness raising initiatives in the field of transport and public utilities – 100%.

Expected Results (EN): PA3-RI3 Population accessing sustainable and efficient public utilities networks (energy, water, ICT). Access to improved utility services based on innovative technologies, access to efficient and sustainable energy sources, especially in marginal and remote territories.

Expected Outputs (EN): A number of ca. 550 persons in Dumbravita living in the streets which will have new sewer system and a number of cca. 450 persons in Golubac (almost 300 households).
