Description (EN):

The READINESS project, capitalizing the methodologies, best practices and results of IPA Adriatic HOLISTIC project, is aimed at mitigating the exposure of citizens to fire and seismic hazards, improving the joint emergency services response and implementation of innovative crisis management procedures. The raising awareness campaigns and the training pilot actions for the civil protection volunteers, citizens and school pupils will be put in place.

Achievements (EN):

The project was aimed at transferring the tested capitalized practices and acquired knowledge in the regional policies of involved region through the promotion of a Strategic Agenda containing a set of policy recommendations on planning and promoting cross-border cooperation to stimulate the monitoring of forest fire and seismic risks and enhance the crisis management in case of disasters both from Civil Protection and from the inhabitants. The project assessed the weak points in fire protection and the reduction of earthquake risk in the regions of Croatia (Dubrovnik-Neretva, Zadar, Split-Dalmatia County, and Italy (Friuli Venezia Giulia and Marche Region). Thus for that purpose were organized 21 Advanced training courses for civil protection including 8 Wildfire exercises, 5 Combined earthquake and wild fire exercise and 2 Cross border combined simulation/drill. Pilot implementation of seismic monitoring innovative procedure included 97 Instrumentally monitoring buildings, 45 Visual and dimensional screening and 6 Detailed analysis of SPB's (preliminary restoration designs). In order to improve citizen's promptness were carried out awareness raising campaigns: 13 Info days addressed to students and school children, 6 Cross border awareness day for children, 7 Exhibition of civil protection vehicles and equipment and 6 Citizen's involvement during combined earthquake and wildfire exercise. At the end of the project a Report on implementation and evaluation of pilot deployment and a Transfer plan of policy recommendations were delivered.
