Description (EN):

ICARUS aims at improving passenger intermodal transport connections and easing coast-hinterland sustainable accessibility, promoting car-independent lifestyles. The project fights against problems generated by the massive use of private cars by introducing solutions based on innovative technologies to adapt smart mobility in a digital world. Moreover, it intends to activate a behavioral change in mobility, using the “Mobility as a Service” which is a concept representing the shift from personally owned modes of transportation towards mobility solutions that are consumed as a service.

Achievements (EN):

The ICARUS project is based on three main pillars, namely Information and Communication Technology, behavior change and Mobility as a Service. The pilot activities were based on these pillars and consisted in web platforms and applications for providing real-time information on sustainable transport solutions available in the cross-border area, new or improved cross-border intermodal services supported by data collection and studies to incentive citizens to change their behavior and technical solutions. In addition to the testing activities, the ICARUS partners collected feedback on their activities from the local population, interviewed the users of the new or improved services. Great importance was given to a range of events dedicated to the pilot actions, the change of behavior and to authorities. European Regional Development Fund www.italy-croatia.eu/icarus The ICARUS consortium shared its knowledge with a wider public through joint events with other EU-funded project, presenting the achievements to a wider public, coming from a wider Adriatic-Ionian area. ICARUS fostered trainings and webinars to increase the knowledge of public authorities, transport operators and other relevant stakeholders. Contribution to local policies and strategies With its results, the ICARUS project contributed to the national, regional and international policies. Indeed, the project outputs and in particular the pilot activities, have implemented some innovative measures foreseen at political level. Thus, it has contributed to test on real scale the policy measures and for this reason represent the rst step for the further upscaling for future initiatives. The ICARUS approach allowed to bring at a higher level the lesson learnt and the needs, in sustainable intermodal low carbon mobility. All our results are published on the project website, visit our library and gallery and check them yourself. Expected Outputs (EN):

ICARUS prepares the framework to the long-term sustainability of results & goes beyond by setting the bases for their scale up in Italian and Croatian territories. WP3 is dedicated to knowledge, in terms of exploring possible solutions already adopted (O.3.1) & mobility needs & gaps in each territory (O.3.2). These will be the baseline to define the E-Learning platform (O.3.3) producing training material & recording of webinars in order to be shared with a wider audience also after the end of the project. In WP4 Pilots results will deliver visible results and provide important hints for their future large scale implementation. In WP5, considering the results of previous WPs, ICARUS will set the long-term vision for the territory involved-
