The main project idea is establishing students' cross-border mini-companies, which will work together for one school year and develop their products and services. The project is based on Creative Entrepreneurship curriculum (Slovenia) and the research “The Development of Teachers’ Professional Competence in Interdisciplinary Study Environment for Linking Learning to Real Life and Promoting Students’ Entrepreneurship” within ESF project “Support to Education Research” (University of Latvia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia). It is a continuation of Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project “EU-preneurs”. The present initiative is built on the previous project results, achievements and lessons learnt. There are two partner institutions involved in the project. They are both public educational establishments, active in international cooperation and implementation of innovative practices. In the present project Narva Language Lyceum aims to test, improve and disseminate the model of international mini-companies, which was developed in EU-preneurs project. The project tackles the challenges of decreasing population in the Estonian and Russian section of the Programme area and a decrease in the number of tax payers supporting a sustainable social system. The project contributes to the Programme aim to increase the overall entrepreneurial spirit in the Programme area by encouraging and supporting business start-ups, development and cooperation, promoting the entrepreneurship as a lifestyle, raising competence and capacity, including tourism development on local/regional level to jointly use tourism opportunities. The project main activities are testing the model of students' cross-border mini-companies and establishing 7 students' cross-border mini-companies. Each company will involve 2 participants from each partner school (4 members altogether). The companies will meet twice for learning sessions in Sankt-Peterburg and Narva, but most of their work will be done virtually. Apart from developing their businesses and learning entrepreneurship the students will develop their intercultural communication and distance cooperation skills. The main expected results are increase of students' interest in entrepreneurship and their better ability to apply their knowledge to real-life situations and being equipped for full participation in society. It will decrease the early-school leaving in the end because the school life will become more exciting, practical and effective. The project outputs are an effective model of students' cross-border mini-companies, recommendations for teachers to develop students' entrepreneurship by means of cross-border mini-companies, two international learning programmes for the students' mini-companies. The outputs can be used by other schools for promoting development of students' cross-border companies. The project contributes to fulfillment of two programme result indicators: the strength of cross-border activities by institutions in education, R&D, and innovation sectors and the quality of the cross-border business environment. The present project is not possible to realise without cross-border cooperation, because it is the main aspect of the whole idea.

Expected Outputs (EN):

The project outputs are an effective model of students' cross-border mini-companies, recommendations for teachers to develop students' entrepreneurship by means of cross-border mini-companies, two international learning programmes for the students' mini-companies. The outputs can be used by other schools for promoting development of students' cross-border companies. The project contributes to fulfillment of two programme result indicators: the strength of cross-border activities by institutions in education, R&D, and innovation sectors and the quality of the cross-border business environment. The results connected with development of key competences: - increased students' and teachers' competence in Russian and English; - entrepreneurship competence (ability to create ideas and implement them, using the acquired knowledge and skills in different walks of life; to see problems and the opportunities that lie within them; to set goals and carry them out; to organize joint activities, show initiative); - better social competences (cooperation and interaction with other people); - improved learning to learn competence (ability to organize the learning environment and procure the information they need for learning; to plan studies and follow the plan; to use the outcome of the learning, including learning skills and strategies, in different contexts and for solving problems; to analyze one’s knowledge and skills, strengths and weaknesses and on that basis, the need for further learning); - communication competence (ability to clearly and relevantly express oneself, taking into account situations and partners in communication; to present and justify their positions; to read and understand information and literature; to write different types of texts, using appropriate linguistic devices and a suitable style; to prioritize correct use of language and rich expressive language).
