Die Weltbevölkerung wächst und wird bis 2050 9 Milliarden Menschen erreichen, während die Ressourcen abnehmen. Die NWE-Region ist ein sehr dicht besiedeltes Gebiet mit intensiver Landwirtschaft. Es besteht Bedarf an nachhaltigen alternativen Rohstoffen für Lebensmittel. Das ValuSect-Konsortium besteht aus 10 Partnern und 8 assoziierten Unternehmen aus 7 Ländern im NWE-Raum, nämlich 5BE, 4NL, 2FR, 3GB, 1IR, 1GE, 1CH, 1EU. ValuSect verbessert die Innovationsleistung von Unternehmen, indem es die transnationale Zusammenarbeit und die Nutzung der Insektenforschung als Quelle für die Entwicklung von Nahrungsmitteln stärkt. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Entwicklung eines nachhaltigen transnationalen Programms, an dem alle Partner mit Fachwissen in den Bereichen Insekten, Lebensmittelproduktion, Innovation und Vermarktung beteiligt sind, um Unternehmen bei der Ko-Kreation zu unterstützen. Das Wissen wird den Unternehmen durch Pilotdemonstrationen und Feldtests in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Endnutzern im Rahmen von offenen/thematischen Ausschreibungen (Gutscheine 10, 20 oder 40 k€ für KMU) vermittelt. Während der Laufzeit des Projekts werden 40 Fälle ausgewählt und umgesetzt. Zuvor müssen einige Fragen von KMU zur Qualitätsverbesserung der Insektenproduktion und -verarbeitung (TRL 4-8) geklärt werden, z.B. Insektenzusammensetzung, Verbraucherfreundlichkeit. In diesem Projekt werden 3 Insektenarten (z.B. Tenebrio-Molitor, Acheta domesticus und Locusta migratoria) verwendet, die bereits über eine Futterfeile verfügen. Mindestens 15 bereits kommerziell erhältliche insektenbasierte Lebensmittel werden auf ihre Lebensmittelsicherheit und Haltbarkeit geprüft und 40 Fälle werden unterstützt. Das Beschleunigerprogramm wird nach dem Projekt fortgesetzt. Dies wird den Innovationsgrad der Unternehmen der Lebensmittelindustrie im NWE-Raum erhöhen und die Schaffung eines Verbrauchermarktes für Insektenanwendungen langfristig beschleunigen.

Description (EN):

The global population is growing and expected to reach 9 billion by 2050, while resources are decreasing. The NWE Area is a very densely populated area characterized by intensive agriculture, so it is necessary to find sustainable alternatives for resources for food. The ValuSect consortium consists of 10 full and 8 associated partners from 7 countries in the NWE area, being 5BE, 4NL, 2FR, 3GB, 1IR, 1GE, 1CH, 1EU. ValuSect enhances the innovation performance of enterprises throughout NWE regions by strengthening the transnational cooperation and exploitation of research on insects as resource for the development of new (semi) finished food products. The focus will be the development of an sustainable transnational Accelerator program including all partners with expertise on insects, food production, innovation and commercialisation to support and cooperate with enterprises. The knowledge will be transferred to enterprises by pilot demonstration and real life testing in close collaboration with end consumers via open/thematic calls for cases (vouchers of 10, 20 or 40k€ for SMEs). During the durance of the project 40 cases will be selected and performed. Prior to these case some questions from SMEs regarding the quality improvement of the insect production and processing need to be clarified eg. composition of the insect, food safety, product shelf life and consumer acceptance (TRL 4-8). Three insect species (e.g. Tenebrio molitor, Acheta domesticus and Locusta migratoria) that already have a novel food dossier will be used in this project. Min. 15 insect based food products already existing on the market will be evaluated for their food safety and shelf life and 40 company cases will be supported. The accelerator program will be sustained after the project. This will increase the innovation levels of enterprises in the food industry in the NWE Area and will accelerate the creation of a consumer market for insect applications in the long term.

La population mondiale augmente et atteindra 9 milliards de personnes d'ici 2050, alors que les ressources diminuent. La région du NWE est une région très densément peuplée caractérisée par une agriculture intensive. Il y a un besoin de matières premières alternatives durables pour les aliments. Le consortium ValuSect se compose de 10 partenaires et 8 associés de 7 pays de la zone NWE, 5BE, 4NL, 2FR, 3GB, 1IR, 1GE, 1CH, 1EU. ValuSect améliore les performances d'innovation des entreprises en renforçant la coopération transnationale et l'exploitation de la recherche sur les insectes comme source pour de produits alimentaires. L'accent sera mis sur le développement d'un programme transnational durable impliquant tous les partenaires ayant une expertise dans les insectes, la production alimentaire, l'innovation et la commercialisation pour soutenir les entreprises dans la cocréation. Les connaissances seront transférées aux entreprises par le biais de démonstrations pilotes et d'essais sur le terrain en étroite collaboration avec les utilisateurs finaux au moyen d'appels à propositions ouverts/thématiques (10, 20 ou 40 k€ pour PME). 40 cas seront sélectionnés et mis en œuvre. Avant cela, certaines questions des PME doivent être clarifiées sur l';amélioration de la qualité de la production et de la transformation des insectes (TRL 4-8), ex. la composition et l'appréciation des insectes. 3 espèces (ex. Tenebrio molitor, Acheta domesticus et Locusta migratoria) qui ont déjà un fichier d'alimentation seront utilisées dans ce projet. 15 aliments à base d'insectes déjà disponibles sur le marché feront l'objet d'une évaluation de leur sécurité alimentaire et de leur durée de conservation et 40 cas seront pris en charge. Le programme d'accélérateurs se poursuivra après le projet. Cela augmentera le niveau d'innovation de ces entreprises dans la région du NWE et accélérera la création d'un marché des insectes.
