Description (EN):

ADRION area represents one of the richest regions in Europe in terms of cultural diversity with distinct traditions, languages, religions and architectural monuments ranging from antiquity to modern times. Nevertheless the level of conditions, accessibility and presentation of cultural and landscape sites varies significantly among countries and in particular the parks accessibility. TANGRAM project will provide the inputs an solutions in order to develop the optimal framework for coordination of such actions and support the development of transnational strategies for jointly promoting the AI parks and gardens areas as a tourist destination thanks to the development of TANGRAM Transnational network developed in synergy with a benchmarking activity of the best practices in the area. Initiatives for urban regeneration do not complement each other and do not follow always an integrated approach but they will be included in local action plans and in the Transnational Action Plan identifying common actions. TANGRAM supports a sustainable tourism model though the valorisation and promotion of parks and gardens, networked with major cultural and natural resources of the AI region, on the basis of jointly developed methodological tools and a new governance system based on participative approach. A different set of offer tourism product, based on a unique and innovative transnational model, will enrich ADRION tourist offer and facilitate tourism flows especially during medium seasons, stimulate the SMEs competitiveness, improve public and private transnational cooperation among actors along the tourism value chain and help improve the living conditions of the local population tested with pilot actions. Overall objective is to build and promote ADRION brand name in tourism by promoting a sustainable valorisation and integration into the tourism offer the parks and gardens as hidden resources by an innovative governance system based on the collaboration between stakeholders.

Expected Outputs (EN):

The project will contribute to the programme result indicator “Level of capacity for the stakeholders in the fields of natural and cultural heritage protection and tourism to sustainably valorise natural and cultural heritage as a growth asset” by fulfilling the programme specific objective. TANGRAM thanks to the development of the benchmarking of the best practices (made by an on line tool) will be able to identify the most suitable solution to be applied to the Adrion area and then with the implementation of the EASW process and the definition of the Local Action Plans and the Transnational Action Plans the project will ensure the results R1 and R3. These project results will contribute to the increase of the capacity of local stakeholders (private and public) to define new strategies for the sustainable tourism promotion thanks to the parks valorisation, offering innovative services for a new niche of tourist (R4) and then developing new jobs offers for qualified people supporting the local development growth (R2). The result of the TANGRAM activities and especially capacity building to be offered in several different platforms (EASW, seminars, webinars) will have a direct positive impact in the level of capacity of local, regional and national stakeholders related to tourism in the participating areas in terms of valorising sustainably and promoting effectively the natural and cultural heritage of their territories and ADRION area as a whole. The integrated approach for jointly developing and promoting thematic tourism in a sustainable way will contribute to the valorisation of natural and cultural heritage, since it will contribute to the economic development of the target regions/area, considering then tourism as growth asset but off course with a sustainable development approach.
