Description
Description (EN): PSAMIDES links two critical blue growth sectors: Ports and coastal & maritime tourism, which combined represent the 51% of GVA, 69% of jobs and 61% of profits of the total EU blue economy, strongly concentrated in MED area.An important share of MED tourism is channelled through Ports and concentrated in coastal areas. Yet, a particularity of the MED area is the constellation of hundreds of Small and Medium sized Ports (SMP) that play a fundamental role in articulating coastal & maritime tourism, connecting the hinterland and the communities.SMP with their marinas, yachts, cruising activities and linked touristic industries are a key factor of competitiveness in the MED area. PSAMIDES objective is to optimize SMP operation and marina management by implementing innovative tools to manage tourism flows, better controlling costs, providing more services to customers and stimulating Ports ecoinnovation, reducing environmental negative externalities derived from tourist activity. PSAMIDES is built upon two axis:1) Creating a SMP Blue Growth Community: a transnational approach will be adopted to allow SMP creating an integrated business ecosystem supporting innovation, overcoming its limited staff and funding to identify the most effective solutions on their own.2) Enhancing Blue Growht Governance: setting up an effective multilevel governance tool and methodology, capitalizing management experiences that could be replicated in hundreds of Ports of the MED area.

Read more Achievements (EN): This project progress report aims at providing summary information on the main achievements for the Period November 2019 to June 2020 (first semester) - in particular, reporting progress for activities and tasks of Work packages 1 (management), 2 (Project communication), 3 (Testing), 4 (transferring). The overview on the objectives of this first reporting period takes into account the level of achievement of the project specific objective:
1.1 To increase transnational activity of innovative clústers and networks of key sectors of the MED area. All partners have had a high level of involvement and participation during the first reporting period, and all them have contributed to reach the following achievements:
1. Setting up of internal organizational structure, tools, roles and responsabilities to facilitate a smooth administratie and financial management, participation to six STC meetings, completion of two questionnaires in the frame of the monitoring task for the transition between modules.
2. Elaboration of a communication strategy, analysis of target groups, the identification of relevant stakeholders, drafting the first press release and its dissemination to regional/national channels.
3. Preparation of the description of the seven thematic topics of the pilots (innovative technologies, services, measures). The Consortium has selected seven innovative technologies to be tested to improve the ports ecosystem management and their environmental quality. In that context, target groups values to be reached during transfer and dissemination of testing results were distributed par partner. Moreover, the evaluation framework for measuring effectiveness of tchnology use was set up. Under evaluation and monitoring of testings activity (testing phase), partners have already identified methods for reaching interoperatibilty among mediterranean Ports when using particular technologies during the implementation of pilots in the coming months. In fact, evaluating all selected technologies that are to be purchased, installed and tested in SMPs and demonstrating their added value and transfer and replicability potentials are key project activities, as the identification of project findings, results and recommendations are key inputs for transferring.
4. Preparatory activities for WP4 and in specific the drafting of the Call for Innovation Support Services to be launched in autumn 2020 and the design of the framework of the SMEs’ Coaching Program
