Description (EN):

The magical charm of a starry sky acts as an inspiration for many. After all, communal stargazing is not only a science or education, but also fun and the beginning of many friendships and hobbies. Project will get people "new point of view" to starry sky and light pollution problems of night nature heritage and show the publicity beauty of night nature, especially Carpathian starry sky. The project is focused on the development of cooperation between Poland and Ukraine regarding: 1) The development of the popularization and preservation strategy of natural and cultural heritage of starry sky in the cross-border area. 2) Realization of the developed strategy illustrated by small pilot project in Ukraine. Project will create the new starry sky educational route at Transcarpathian Dark Sky Park. 3) Strengthening the institutional capacity of stakeholders in the field of tourism, preservation, revitalization and protection of natural heritage objects. Participants of astro-tourist trainings will receive a practical introduction to the secrets of astronomy, will study under the eye of experts and will work with professional equipment. 4) Increasing information awareness of the population and tourists. Both Transcarpathian Dark Sky Park and Bieszczady Starry Sky Park will be register at international data base of such parks and will be better known at international astro-tourist and ecologists community. 5) Image cultivation of the border regions in the promotion and natural heritage preservation sphere; increasing the diversity and quality of tourist services.

Expected Results (EN): Increased number of visitors of the natural heritage sites (baseline value - 377832; target value - 379832)

Expected Outputs (EN):

Length of improved or newly developed tourist infrastructure aiming to increase the usage of natural heritage in tourism (e.g. cycle routes, educational paths, etc.) - 2. Number of cross-border events organized using Programme support - 4. Number of new strategies/policies regarding promotion and preservation of natural heritage - 1. Number of newly created infrastructure increasing the use of natural heritage in the tourism (e.g. cycle routes, educational paths, etc.) - 1. Number of persons participating in actions and awareness raising activities promoting preservation of natural heritage - 1380. Number of promoted and/or preserved natural sites as direct consequence of Programme support - 2. Number of publications on natural heritage of the region - 5. Number of trainings for staff responsible for the natural heritage management - 1.
