Description (EN):

The LAZOS project seeks to contribute to the development of the capital cities of the countries of Cape Verde, Mauritania, Senegal and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and to promote more efficient and effective models of municipal organisation and management, through a participatory process of exchange of experience, information, training, participatory diagnosis and improvement plans. Above all, it is intended to address the problem of the growth of African cities (it is estimated that they double their population in 20 years). All this will help to improve the management capacities of cities, especially in urban and environmental areas and strengthen cooperation ties at political and technical level, as set out in the Partnership Protocol signed by the partners in July 2017. This project is the beginning of a permanent work of the partner cities, which will serve as the basis for implementing new projects and programs in common areas in the future.

El proyecto LAZOS busca contribuir al desarrollo de las ciudades capitales de los países de Cabo Verde, Mauritania, Senegal y Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y promover modelos de organización y gestión municipal más eficientes y eficaces, a través de un proceso participativo de intercambio de experiencia, información, formación, diagnóstico participativo y planes de mejora. Sobretodo se pretende abordar la problemática del crecimiento de las ciudades africanas (se estima que doblen su población en 20 años). Todo esto contribuirá a mejorar las capacidades de gestión de las ciudades, especialmente en los ámbitos urbanísticos y medioambientales y estrechar los lazos de cooperación a nivel político y técnico, tal como se recogió en el Protocolo de Colaboración firmado por los socios en julio de 2017. Este proyecto es el inicio de un trabajo permanente de las ciudades socias, lo que servirá de base para implementar a futuro nuevos proyectos y programas en ámbitos comunes.
