Le projet « Humerus Clausus » a comme objectif le développement d’outils d’aide au diagnostic, à la simulation et au traitement personnalisé des pathologies de l’épaule. Un dispositif de mesure non invasif sera mis au point afin d’identifier en temps réel la position des structures osseuses impliquées dans l’articulation scapulo-humérale (épaule). Parallèlement, un banc de test utilisable sur pièces anatomiques permettra de relier expérimentalement un mouvement donné de l’humérus aux efforts musculaires correspondants. Cet ensemble permettra l’optimisation, en chirurgie virtuelle, du choix de l’ensemble prothétique afin de maximiser les amplitudes, les efforts musculaires, et donc le résultat fonctionnel. La complémentarité des compétences des différents partenaires industriels, universitaires, médicaux dans des domaines très variés devrait permettre de concevoir, valider et certifier ces systèmes outils destinés à l’orthopédie et à améliorer le service médical rendu.

Description (EN):

The aim of the “Humerus Clausus” project is to develop tools to assist in the diagnosis, simulation and personalised treatment of shoulder pathologies. A non-invasive measuring device will be developed to identify in real time the position of the bone structures involved in the scapulohumeral joint (shoulder). At the same time, a test bench usable on anatomical parts will allow experimentally to link a given movement of the humerus to the corresponding muscular efforts. This set will allow the optimisation, in virtual surgery, of the choice of the prosthetic set in order to maximise amplitudes, muscle efforts, and thus the functional result. The complementarity of the skills of the various industrial, academic and medical partners in a wide variety of fields should enable the design, validation and certification of these tool systems for orthopaedics and to improve the medical service provided.
