Description (EN):

The Léman Express (LEX) project is designed to encourage cross-border journeys by public transport through the provision of a new railway offer that connects 230 km of lines and more than 40 stations within a radius of 60 km around Geneva (i.e. a territory of nearly one million inhabitants).On this perimeter, the project for a single and common multimodal cross-border pricing (principle 1 trip = 1 ticket) was validated by a diagnostic and definition study, called ETMR (Regional Multimodal Rate Study), completed in 2015. This study, carried out by the GLCT (Local Grouping for Transfrontier Cooperation), benefited from the assistance of the ERDF (INTERREG V FR/CH) and its Swiss counterpart. Consequently, it is now appropriate to allow the application and sale of this tariff by all operators by developing the Swiss and French distribution systems, but also by allowing mutual recognition of the transport tickets issued by each of the undertakings concerned (interoperability).

Le projet Léman Express (LEX) est conçu pour encourager les trajets transfrontaliers en transports publics au travers de la mise à disposition d'une nouvelle offre ferroviaire qui connecte 230 km de lignes et plus de 40 gares dans un rayon de 60 km autour de Genève (soit un territoire de près d’un million d’habitants).Sur ce périmètre, le projet d’une tarification transfrontalière multimodale unique et commune (principe 1 voyage = 1 ticket) a été validé par une étude de diagnostic et de définition, dénommée ETMR (Etude Tarification Multimodale Régionale), terminée en 2015. Cette étude, portée par le GLCT (Groupement Local de Coopération Transfrontalière), a bénéficié de l’intervention du FEDER (INTERREG V FR/CH) et de sa contrepartie suisse.En conséquence, il convient aujourd’hui de permettre l’application et la vente de cette tarification par tous les opérateurs en développant les systèmes de distribution suisses et français, mais également en permettant une reconnaissance mutuelle des titres de transports émis par chacune des entreprises concernées (interopérabilité).
