Achievements (EN):

BioCom project promoted the BioEconomy concept and approaches for agricultural industry in neighbouring border territories of Finland and Russia through the complex of capacity building actions and practical showcases for the local actors in agricultural sector. Russian-Finnish BioEconomy Competence Centre for education, research and life-long learning process on biologically sustainable agriculture was established. The aim of centre is to provide permanent educational and information facilities and to integrate the BioEconomy principles and approaches into the regional and local development policies forming favourable environment for their adoption by the local industries and communities in the Russian and Finnish Programme regions. The demand for project outputs and outcomes was wider than initially expected - additional project target groups were defined and project developed more training programmes than originally planned. New evaluation criteria for energy audits of enterprises was developed - an environmental assessment accounting for polluting emissions and developing measures for the use of renewable energy sources. Calculation model was created that can be used by farmers in order to study CO2-emissions of different processes and fuels. Project partners developed recommendations for the creation of a demonstration zone of high-energy efficiency on the basis of a pilot farm in the Leningrad Region.

Achievements (FI):

BioCom hanke edisti BioEconomy konseptin ja toimintamallien tunnettavuutta maatalouden toimijoiden keskuudessa Suomen ja Venäjän ohjelma-alueilla koulutuksen ja demonstraation keinoin. Hankkeessa perustettiin suomalais-venäläinen BioEconomy Competence -keskus jatkamaan koulutus ja tutkimustyötä hankkeen päättymisen jälkeen. Keskuksen tarkoituksena on tarjota pysyvät koulutus ja tietopalvelufasiliteetit BioEconomy konseptin oppien ja toimintamallien integroimiseksi osaksi alueellista päätöksentekoa niiden soveltamiseksi ja käyttöön ottamiseksi yritysten toimesta ohjelma-alueella niin Suomessa kuin Venäjällä. Tarve hankkeen tuloksille oli suurempaa kuin oletettu ja projekti laajensi kohderyhmäänsä sekä tuotti enemmän koulutusohjelmia kuin hanke oli suunnitellut. Hankkeessa kehitettiin arviointikriteeri energiatarkastuksille yritysten käyttöön, sisältäen ympäristöpäästöjen laskemisen mallin sekä arviointia uusiutuvien energiamuotojen käyttöön otosta. Hankkeessa luotiin laskentamalli, jota maanviljelijät voivat hyödyntää selvittääkseen CO2 päästöjen syntyä eri prosesseissa ja eri polttoaineilla. Hankkeen partnerit kehittivät suosituksia energiatehokkuuden demonstraatioalueen luomiseksi Leningradin alueella sijaitsevan pilotti-maatilaa hyödyntäen.

Проект BioCom способствовал продвижению концепции и подходов биоэкономики в сельскохозяйственной отрасли на приграничных территориях Финляндии и России посредством реализации комплекса мер по наращиванию потенциала и демонстрации конкретных практических решений представителям сельскохозяйственного сектора. Создан Российско-Финляндский центр компетенций в сфере биоэкономики для проведения обучения, исследований и повышения квалицикации в области устойчивого сельского хозяйства. Центр является постоянно действующим местом проведения обучающих и информационных мероприятий, его задачей является интеграция принципов и подходов биоэкономики в развитие на региональном и местном уровнях за счет создания благоприятной среды для их использования местными предприятиями и сообществами в программных регионах в России и Финляндии. Спрос на результаты проекта оказался выше, чем ожидалось изначально, в связи с чем были определены дополнительные целевые группы проекта и разработано больше программ обучения. Разработаны новые критерии оценки для энергетического аудита предприятий - экологическая оценка с учетом выбросов загрязняющих веществ и разработка мер по использованию возобновляемых источников энергии. Была создана расчетная модель, которая может быть использована фермерами для изучения выбросов CO2 от различных процессов и видов топлива. Партнеры проекта разработали рекомендации по созданию демонстрационной зоны высокой энергоэффективности на базе опытного фермерского хозяйства в Ленинградской области.
