Description (EN):

The project aims at transforming urban water resources in Rēzekne and Ostrov into more sustainable and attractive place for their inhabitants and visitors, maintaining the balance between social, economic and environmental factors. During the project local tourism actors will receive trainings in marketing, cooperation (cluster formation), tourism relation to sustainable management of natural resources and will be encouraged to exchange relevant experience and share knowledge. Project partners will develop research on water basins in Rēzekne and Ostrov, create materials for eco-quests and waterfront tourism routes. Integrated natural resource management handbook and a joint cross-border approach to integrated natural resource management studies will be developed. Improvement works on 2 waterfront sites will be performed, providing a substantial positive impact on the increase of visitors to the improved nature objects of Programme territory.

Projekta mērķis ir pārveidot pilsētu ūdens resursus Rēzeknē un Ostrovā par ilgtspējīgāku un pievilcīgāku vietu to iedzīvotājiem un apmeklētājiem, saglabājot līdzsvaru starp sociālajiem, ekonomiskajiem un vides faktoriem. Projekta gaitā vietējie tūrisma dalībnieki saņems apmācības mārketingā, sadarbībā (klasteru veidošanā), tūrisma attiecībās ar ilgtspējīgu pārvaldību un dabas resursiem. Projekta partneri izstrādās pētījumus par ūdens baseiniem Rēzeknē un Ostrovā, izveidos materiālus ilgtspējīgiem ūdens krastmalu tūrisma maršrutiem. Tiks izstrādāta integrēta dabas resursu pārvaldības rokasgrāmata un kopīga pārrobežu pieeja integrēto dabas resursu pārvaldības studiju procesam. Tiks veikti uzlabojumi divu ūdenskrātuvju krastos, kas pozitīvi ietekmēs apmeklētāju skaita palielināšanos uzlabotajos Programmas teritorijas dabas objektos.

Проект направлен на превращение городских водных ресурсов в Резекне и Остров в более устойчивое и привлекательное место для их жителей и посетителей, сохраняя баланс между социальными, экономическими и экологическими факторами. В ходе проекта местные субъекты туризма будут проходить обучение маркетингу, сотрудничеству (формирование кластеров), отношениям туризма с устойчивым управлением природными ресурсами и будут поощряться к обмену соответствующим опытом и обмену знаниями. Партнеры проекта будут разрабатывать исследования по водным бассейнам в Резекне и Острове, создавать материалы для эко-квестов и маршруты набережной. Будет разработан комплексный справочник по управлению природными ресурсами и совместный трансграничный подход к интегрированным исследованиям в области управления природными ресурсами. Будут проведены работы по улучшению на 2 участках набережной, что окажет значительное положительное влияние на увеличение посетителей на улучшенные объекты природы в районе Программы.

Expected Results (EN):

The increase in the number of visitors will be used to assess achievement of result indicators. An increase in the tourist flow to the improved object in Ostrov area will be 15% with target value 9.1 thousand people (in comparison to 7913 in 2014). An increase in the tourist flow to the improved object in Rezekne area will be 15% with target value thousand 50,1 thousand people (in comparison to 43565 in 2014).

Expected Outputs (EN): Condition and sustainability of two "STICKY AREAS" of waterfront sites will be improved. (600 metres in Ostrov and 49102 m2 in Rezekne,LV).
