Description (EN):

Cross-border relationships, the ability to communicate and negotiate ideas and make deals with people from other countries and cultures are extremely important for export ability and entering new markets of any companies; globalisation and internationalisation of companies (including student companies) in the Central Baltic region are an issue that needs to be addressed and promoted in order to raise the number of new exportable products and competitive businesses both now and in future. The “Teaming UP” project addresses the opportunity of boosting the confidence and business skills of the young generation who are interested in business and who possess entrepreneurial skills and business thinking. The project will foster the global approach to thinking and support pupils in developing international business teams and ideas. The cross-border cooperation is of crucial essence to the success of the project. Project activities, outputs and results are based on the creation, development and implementation of international business teams and business projects. Teams will bring together young people from different countries, each offering their own unique, personal and professional contributions to the business team. Cross-border cooperation is the salt of the project, without which the goals and ideas put forward by the project partners to boost the confidence and business skills of the young people are unthinkable. The specific objectives of the project in a nutshell are to motivate pupils and boost their confidence of thinking globally, strengthen and support teachers - youth entrepreneurship professionals and share the “teaming UP” programme throughout the Central Baltic region. Total budget of the project is 518266,29 EUR. The implementation period is 2 years or 24 months. Project partner are Valmiera Development Agency, Valga County Vocational Training Centre, Mercuria Business College and Valmiera Vocational Training Centre.

Achievements (EN):

12 international student business teams formed; More that 60 students took part in international business teams and more that 120 participated in international project events; We have developed “Teaming Up” programme Methodology; Events organized for the international student business teams: 1 bootcamp, 1 international team formation event, 3 local project informative events, 8 online workshops, 3 inspirational days to local entrepreneurs; Students together with mentors attended 3 mentor speed-date sessions; International teams took part in developing their prototypes in Valmiera Makerspace DARE; International student business teams attended pitching preparation event in Tallinn where they developed their presentation skills; 11 international student business team representatives attended pitching to investors event and presented their business ideas; We have developed “Teaming Up” programme Sustainability plan.

Expected Results (EN): R1.2. Number of established joint student companies

Expected Outputs (EN):

Main results: During the project at least 12 international joint student cross-border companies established, of which the partnership hopes at least 3 are confident to continue their activities after the end of the project (it is understood by the partnership that all participating teams will not become or stay ‘joint’ by the end of the project activities). The main results link directly to the programme result indicator, namely, a specific number of cross-border student companies will be established. Main outputs/outcomes: - At least 60 young people involved directly in the "Teaming UP" programme + at least 60 additional young people participated in project activities. - Programme branding and marketing campaign (set of activities) implemented. - 1 student company (mini company) programme methodology and materials developed. - 1 creating teams event organised – as a result 12 international joint student cross-border companies established. - 4 motivating and inspiring boot-camps around Central Baltic organised: (1) preparing a business plan and financial planning (2) product design and development, (3) marketing and PR, (4) presenting a business project to investors. Each boot-camp takes place in turns in different country to ensure wider perspectives from all involved parts. - 2 business speed-dating events with experienced entrepreneurs and mentors organised. - 1 prototyping workshop in Makerspace organised. - 1 business idea pitching event organised. - 3 promotional videos created to promote the programme to other pupils, too. - 1 international conference organised for teachers/ professionals who work with student companies on daily basis.
