The overall objective of the project is to increase the effectiveness of cooperation between partners from Poland and Russia for the preservation and promotion of the common historical, cultural and natural heritage of north-eastern Poland and the Kaliningrad Region of the Russian Federation. One of the main activities carried out under the project was the creation of a new version of the mobile guide “Trail of Gothic Castles”. It is one of the most dynamically developing tourist applications in Poland. It is not only a compendium of knowledge presenting unique tourist routes in northern Poland and the Kaliningrad Region, but it also includes field games on selected routes. When installed on a smartphone, the application enables the person using it access a full database which contains information on accommodation, restaurants, organized events (including concerts, workshops, battle reenactments, etc.), as well as descriptions of nearby tourist attractions. The application contains information on 114 selected, attractive sites and objects. It is available in four languages (Polish, English, Russian and German) and adapted to iOS/ Android, with the option of listening to the content of descriptions and audio description of photos attached to objects, thanks to which it can be used by visually impaired people. Castles in north-eastern Poland were also presented in publications prepared by the partners and on maps. Within the project, the routes have been marked with information boards ”Trail of castles and fortifications”. Partners also organized travel games and study visits for journalists and bloggers. A multimedia map of the Teutonic state in the 15th century was also created along with an educational game and an interactive map entitled “Trail of Gothic Castles”.

Expected Results (EN): increased number of tickets sold at 12 museums joined in the LB and Russian museums in Kaliningrad; increased number of visitors at 8 IT offices in: the Province of Warmia and Mazury, the Pomerania Province, the Kaliningrad Region
